Dennis Marquardt called the April 4th meeting of the Wichita Falls Traffic Safety
Commission to order at 1:30 p.m.
The minutes were approved after revision for March 2012.
The financial report for March was presented by Stan Horton. Balance is $0.00.
Dennis Marquardt and Charles Grady presented a check for $250 that was donated
to the TSC by the Rotary Club North of Wichita Falls.
Accident Statistics:
Karl Lillie of WFPD advised the total crashes for March 2012 were 251 of which 58
were injury accidents and 0 fatalities. There have been 0 fatalities for 2012.

City Traffic Report
Mark Beauchamp advised all projects are all about the same but in different stages.
1. Mark advised his department is still in the yearly maintenance
mode at this time and will soon begin moving into pavement
markings project which is a yearly task.
2. Also looking to expand the LED light program possibly in the
downtown area.
3. Intersection of Barnett and Southwest Parkway has a new systems
update that is approximately 95% complete.
4. Lawrence Road realignment project has started and should finish
up around the end of the year.
State Traffic Report
David Rhomer advised their projects are also in the same stages.
1. Moving the existing exit ramp at Kell and Fairway job is
underway.
2. High mast illumination replacement at 281!287 intersection has

1. Mark Beauchamp advised the 2012 Bicycle Rodeo would be held
on Saturday April 14th and reminded everyone to try and attend.
Patrick Hearn with the Wichita County Medical Alliance advised
the helmets were donated by their organization and the Texas
Medical Foundation. It was explained that through this
partnership, purchases are matched to a point. They do, however,
ask to give each person a bookmark letting them know who
supplied the helmets. Patrick advised they would like to make this
a yearly donation to our community.
2. No bicycle ordinance on Kell Boulevard - It was agreed that a
letter would be drafted and sent to council for approval.
