Ordinance appropriating a total of $2,000,000 of American Rescue
Plan (ARPA) Funding for reconstruction of street/sidewalk lighting in
Downtown Wichita Falls
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has received funding from the American
Rescue Plan; and,
WHEREAS, City Council passed a non-binding resolution on June 14, 2022; and,
WHEREAS, funding of $2,000,000 was allocated for the roadway and pedestrian
lighting improvements in the Downtown area of Wichita Falls; and,
WHEREAS, the guidance from the American Rescue Plan Act allows for the
appropriation of these funds, for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to appropriate a total of $2,000,000 of
American Rescue Plan funding through the grant performance period, ending December
31 , 2026, for the reconstruction of roadway and pedestrian lighting in the Wichita Falls
Downtown area.
