The financial report for May was presented by Stan Horton. Balance is $250. This amount was deposited but will show a deduction from purchases for the 2012 Bicycle rodeo. Total will be presented in June 2012. Accident Statistics: Karl Lillie of WFPD advised the total crashes for April 2012 were 279 of which 54 were injury accidents and 1 fatality. There has been 1 fatality for 2012. PAGE 1 c M C7 -- m i M z City Traffic Report Mark Beauchamp advised all projects are all about the same but in different stages. 1. Mark advised his department is still in the yearly maintenance mode at this time and will soon begin moving into pavement State Traffic Report Unfinished Business: None. New Business: markings project which is a yearly task. 2. Also looking to expand the LED light program possibly in the downtown area as well as Kemp and Southwest Pkwy. 3. Intersection of Barnett and Southwest Parkway has a new systems update that is approximately 95% complete. 4. Lawrence Road realignment project has started and should finish up around the end of the year. 1. Movement of the existing exit ramp at Kell and Fairway job is underway. 2. High mast illumination replacement at 281/287 intersection has a contractor and will began soon. 1. Mark Beauchamp advised the 2012 Bicycle Rodeo was a success. We gave out close to 150 helmets and 53 kids completed the rodeo safety course and one lucky 5 year old girl was the happy recipient of a new bicycle. Mark thanked Patrick Hearn with the Wichita County Medical Alliance who helped provide the helmets that were donated by their organization and the Texas Medical Foundation. Mark also thanked all the TSC members and the other City organizations that helped and allowed us to participate with them in our endeavor to help the children in our community ride safe. 2. No bicycle ordinance on Kell Boulevard - It was agreed that a letter would be drafted and sent to council for approval. 3. Ronnie & Stephanie Teakell Elm Wood N Circle Wichita Falls - Advised they live on a zero lot line property. They presented a concern about their neighbor who has planted shrubs that extend to the street. Due to the placement and size of the shrubs, it presents a hazard when exiting the Teakell's driveway. Mark presented pictures and video. Peter Scott, the City Prosecutor, was present and stated he would check ordinances and advise the TSC at the next meeting. PAGE 2 4. Mark mentioned a concern in accidents at the intersection of Harrison and Hampsted. He advised a request has been made to the TSC to look at the safety of this intersection. Mark gave stats that reflected a decrease in accidents over the last few years; therefore, appears speed was the only factor that could be attributed to the accidents.
