CALL TO ORDER:
Alan Donaldson called the meeting to order at 1:35 pm. The minutes of October
27, 2011 meeting were put before the Board. Penny Miller made the motion to
accept the minutes. Sharon Roach seconded the motion. Minutes were
approved.
DEPARTMENTAL REPORT:
1. The Holliday Creek section of the circle trail is 98% finished.
2. The other two sections of the trail, Barnett Road and Seymour Highway, are
under construction.
3. We are discussing and are about ready to submit to TXDOT a change
request to add a parking lot to the 80 Acer Site.
4. The Lake Wichita Shoreline Projects, two of the four are done. The signs
are up and the bank fishing access points are complete. We are working
with engineering and redoing the bids to solicit our second set of bids for
the balance of the project, which will be the Floating Pier and the Wildlife
Observation Platform.
5. The District Five Parks project has no action at this time. We are
proceeding with acquisition of land first.
6. Engineering has excepted and are doing preliminary work on the Pond
going in at Expressway Village Park, which will be about % the size of the
one that went in at South Weeks Park off of Southwest Parkway.
7. The tree removal is continuing with a second contractor. It is 90% clearing
in the park to reduce flooding up stream.
8. Basketball League has started with 25 teams.
9. 50 + Zone activities are going well.
10. As far as our Recreation classes, our dance instructor left us and we are in
need of an instructor.
OLD BUSINESS:
Park Improvement Committee has seen no action at this time.
OTHER ITEMS:
The vandalism at the Lake Wichita Boat Ramp has been corrected.
There was a discussion about the old Holliday North Texas Railroad line
between Wichita Falls and Holliday.
ADJOURNMENT:
Ben (Chip) Filer moved to adjourn the meeting and it was seconded by Stephen
Garner. Meeting was adjourned at 2:15 pm.
