Employee Benefit Trust Minutes - 12/03/2004A CITY OF WICHITYA FALLS EMPLOYEE BENEFITS TRUST ME December 3, 2004 CLERK'S OFFICE Date Present: Bill Sullivan, Chair BY Q, Time lSf�m James Berzina, City Manager Jim Dockery, Director of Finance _ Jan Stricklin, Director of Administrative Services Gail Gannon, Employee Benefits Coordinator The meeting was called to order by Bill Sullivan at 9:00 AM. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes of the last meeting with one correction. Agenda Items: Approval of Annual Stop Loss Agreement Jan Stricklin presented the proposed Stop Loss Agreement for 2005. It was noted that the contract had gone out for bids with J. Allan Hall & Associates being the only bid received. Ms. Stricklin explained the three different proposed options and the differences to each one. She explained that J. Allan Hall is the current stop loss carrier and that the Trust currently pays around $358,000. for a $150,000. specific. The proposed $150,000. specific proposal is for $388,000. a $30,000. increase. Jim Dockery discussed the advantages and disadvantages of staying with the $150,000. specific vs. $175,000. or $200,000. He stressed that only two people had gone over the specific limit during the contract year that just ended and believed the Trust would be safe in going with the $200,000. specific at an approximate cost of $300,000. Jim Dockery made a motion to approve the contract with J. Allan Hall for the $200,000. specific. Jan Stricklin seconded the motion. Motion carried. Discussion of Iowa Park Employee Benefits Trust Jan Stricklin explained to the Board that the City of Iowa Park currently pays $11,000 per year for the administration of their trust. Additionally, they pay $3.50 per employee per month for time share on the claims adjudicating system and that only about 60 -70 claims per months are processed for their group.
