Commission on Human Needs Minutes - 11/15/2004 RECEIVED IN CITY CLERK'S OFFICE Commission on Human Needs Date 's\_3 4 November 15 2004 Minutes of Meeting By _Tirr�E �� Today's meeting is a regularly scheduled meeting of the Human Needs Commission. The meeting convened in the City of Wichita Falls Council Conference Room. Attendance was as follows: Those in Attendance: Council Liaison Dennis Marquardt Mayor Altman Pat Haywood Stephanie Green City Staff Katherine Phillips Dave Goodrich Amber Holt Ron Sanders Sylvesta Shed 1. Call to Order: Item 1 Mr. Marquardt called the commission to order at 5:02 p.m. The October minutes were approved without exception. The following items were discussed: 2. Old Business: a. Committee Reports: Item 1.Committee on Aging: Committee on Aging will combine with Committee on Disabled. Item 2.Committee on the Status of Women: No Report. Item 3.Committee on Human Needs: Catherine has submitted the Letter to the Editor but has not seen it in the paper. Item 4.Committee on Disabled: Pat brought Proclamation presented by Mayor Altman for all of the Commission to see. Their Committee will not meet until after the new year. Item 5.Committee on Youth: Bob reported the surveys are all done with exception to the surveys at First Baptist Church. Committee on Youth will begin compiling data to present at possibly next month's meeting. 3. New Business: Item 1.In December, City Council will elect new members to Commission. There are currently four vacancies. Commission members are encouraged to recruit new members for the Commission. Item 2.The Commissions annual workshop will be January 17, 2005. Stanley's BBQ will cater. The will be a pay as you go event. Item 3.Dennis says the Clinics of North Texas might receive more flu shots. If they do they will go by CDC guidelines. There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made and seconded. The motion to adjourn was unanimous. The committee adjourned at 5:17p.m. The next meeting will be held December 20, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Conference Room.
