• Item 3: Committee on Disabilities—Mr. Jamar is still compiling information for
the pamphlet. Also, he's working with the City's Web Page Manager to

the city's web page. There's a possibility that the remaining
commission members may add information to the web page.
Item 4: Committee on Human Relations — Efforts are still being made to start
study groups. At this point there is a lack of support from other outside
agencies.
Item 5: Committee on the Status of Women —This committee is working to
resolve legal issues involving domestic violence. There is
overwhelming support from the Wichita Falls' Police Chief, and such
agencies as First Step, and the Times Record News. The committee is
working towards passing and ordinance to have the perpetrators of
domestic violence prosecuted even if the victim refuses to press charges.
Many states already have the law on the books. Members of this
committee are looking for grants for the project's funding.
Item 6: The commission voted to serve as focal point for ensuring "the right
Local" agencies are involved in the recently requested needs assessment
