VISITORS
The September meeting of the Wichita Falls Traffic Safety Commission was called
to order by Chairman Jody Wade at 1:30 P.M.
Clyde Williford gave the invocation.
The financial report and minutes for the August meeting were approved as written.
The accident statistics were circulated for review.

City Traffic Report
Sgt. Brad Hardin reported that the officers are working the school zones. The
commission discussed ways of improving safety in the school zones. Mr. Don Vann will
contact the PTA's to encourage people to use flashers when in the school zones to call
attention to the reduced speed. Mr. Vann will also contact the school media to do a press
release.
State Traffic Report
Mr. Tim Hertel reported that the overhead project should be completed by
December 2001. The Kell project is going well.

New Business
None.
Items of Discussion
Mr. Don Vann reported that there is a tree that is obstructing view at the Teacher's
Credit Union exit onto Maplewood. Elaine Bourgoin will report it to the proper
department for handling.
Mr. Vann also reported that the schools are in need of new safety vests for the safety
patrol students. Members approved $450 for expenditures for 75 vests.
