Item 01-05: City Bus Shelters
Commission members shared their views with Assistant City Manager
Robert Powers and Wichita Falls Transit Administrator Larry Blowers. Most locations
were satisfactory. The location at Walmart on Lawrence Road was a safety concern due to
the traffic on Lawrence Rd. The commission suggested that the city contact Walmart to
determine if they would allow the bus shelter to be placed on their property at the front
entrance. The city bus now delivers people to the front door. The proposal would be
beneficial to both the city and Walmart. Mr. Powers agreed they would contact Walmart.
Mr. Powers thanked the commission for reviewing the locations and their suggestions.
Item closed.
Item 01-06: Scott/Kell Intersection
Elaine Bourgoin reported that John Burrus has requested funding for this
intersection in next year's budget. Nothing can be done without funding. Item closed.
