VISITORS
The January meeting of the Wichita Falls Traffic Safety Commission was called to
order by Chairman Ronnie Awtry at 1:30 P.M.
Elaine Bourgoin gave the invocation.
Chairman Ronnie Awtry announced that the commission has two new members.
Lt. Col. David Dale will be the new representative from Sheppard Air Force Base. MSgt.
Jim Zillweger will continue to be the alternate representative. Mr. Sam McKelvey will be
the new representative for the at-large position.
The financial report and mihutes for November were accepted and approved as
written.

The accident statistics were not available for review.
City Traffic Report
None due to Mr. Parker's absence.
State Traffic Report
Mr. Hertel reported that there is nothing new to report. Existing projects are going
according to schedule.

Unfinished Business
Item 99-18: Electronic Radar Signs
Item to remain open due to Mr. Parker's absence.
Item 99-19: Walnut/Scott Intersection
Mr. Tim Hertel reported that TXDOT is looking at doing some revisions to
the intersection at Scott and Kell. They will be working with the city's transportation
department for future enhancements. Mr. Hertel did suggest that the commission consider
the possibility of making Walnut a one way street for that one block to avoid the congestion
and confusion when trying to exit onto Scott in that particular location. Elaine Bourgoin
will refer the suggestion to Bob Parker for their evaluation. Item to remain open.
New Business
None.
There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned
at 1:50 P.M.
