Min 08/26/1920 • • August 26th, 1920. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas met in regular session for the transaction of the business of the City, with Mayer W.D. Cline presiding and Aldermen Curlee, McDowell, Bralley, aid City Clerk Thorburn in attendance. The minutes of the regular session on August 5th, and special meeting on August 9th were read and approved. Mewed by Alderman Curlee that Taylor undson at 808 Lamar, and J.E. Hatcher, and Len B. Fletcher at 305 Indiana be permitted to install a Gasoline Filling Station at these points under the usual provisions, to-wit: "That Taylor Hudson, J.E. Hatcher and Lon B. Fletcher, their successors, assigns, legal representatives, and administrators hold the City harmless from any damages that may arise from the installation of the Gasoline 1 Filling Station at 808 Lamar, 710 Austin, and 305 Indiana, respectively, that the Gasoline Filling Stations be installed uhder the supervision of the City Engineer, and that said Gasoline Filling Stations be removed on request of toe City Council" which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried. Moved by alderman Curlee that Joe Mears be permitted to remove two Gasoline tanks from under sidewalk at 806 Scott which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried. Moved by Alderman Curlee that the North Texas Gas Co. be permitted to install a regulator and Regulator House between Burnett and North side of Sixth St, under the usual provisions, to-wit: "That the North Texas Gas Co. its successors, assigns, legal representatives, and administrators hold the City harmless from and damages that mak arise from the installation of the Regulator and Regulator House be- tween Burnett and North side of Sixth St., that the Regulator and House be installed under the supervision of the pity Engineer, and that said Regulator and House be removed on re uest of the City Council" which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried. Moved by Alderman Curlee that the City Clerk be authorized to issue warrant for 4,870.60 to Buffalo Springfield Roller Co. for Street Rol]er purchased from them which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried. • Moved by alderman McDowell that the City Clerk be authorized to issue warrant to Austin sestern goad Machinery Co. for $3,132.00 for 12 dump wagons purchased and received which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. Moved by Alderman Curlee that Mayor Cline, Alderman Bralley 1 and Fire Chief McClure make a report and recommendation for new Fire Station which motion was seconded by alderman McDowell and carried. Moved by Alderman.Curlee that the City Clerk issue a warrant to the Texas Co. for a 6®.,. in full settlement of their claim against the City for the holding of asphalt cars over and above time allowance which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and carried. ORDINANCE # 295. An ordinance to amend section 14 of ordinance No. 108, entitled "An ordinance granting a franchise to Joseph A. Kemp and rank Kell of •,ichita Falls, Texas, and their successors and assigns to construct and maintain a Street Car Line over and along certain streets of the "ity of 'wichita Falls, Texas" which ordinance was passed by the City Council df said City on the 27th day of January 1909, and approved on the same day by T.B. Noble, Mayor, was on motion of Alderman Curlee, placed on its third and last reading by the following yea and nay vote: Alderman Curlee Yea " Bralley yea " McDowell yea Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance 295 passed on its gird and final reading by all the Aldermen present voting yea. An ordinance to license, tax, and regulate hacks, carriages, omnibuses, service,cars, and any other motor vehicle engaged in the transporta- tion of passengers for hire and transfer wagons engaged in the transfer of baggage or any commodity for hire, and to prescribe their compensation and to provide for their protection, and establishing stands for same, and prohibiting the standing of sue - vehicles at ulacee other than erein provided and prescrib- ing a penalty was on motion of Alderman C irlee, seconded by Alderman Bralley, placed on its seco..d reading by the following yea and nay mote: Alderman Curlee yea " Braliey yea " McDowell yea Ma.3or Cline then declared Ordinance #300 passed on its second reading by all the Aldermen present voting yea. ORDINANCE 298 An ordinance to amend Sections 2,3, and 17, of ordinance No. 227, entitled "An ordinance regulating the production, making, manufacture, care, delivery, and:sale of registered.milk or cream, pasteurised milk or cream, milk, cream, skimmed milk, and buttermilk, within the limits of the City of ichita .ealls" passed and approved the 13th day of July, .1916, so as to here- after read as, to-wit:" was on motion of Alderman McDowell, seconded by Alderman Curlee, placed on its third andfinal reading by the following yea and nay vote: Alderman Curlee yea " Bralley yea " McDowell yea Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance passed on its third and final reading all the Aldermen •re ent voting yea. Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance f 302 passed on its firtt reading b, all the Aldermen present voting yea. { 5 • Oe ORDINALi CE it 303 An ordinance prohibiting any person, firm, or corporation, representative or employe of said corporation not authorized by City officials to do so from tearing down, rem2ving or destroying street or alley barricades in the City of Wichita Falls, texas, stating conditions under which barri- cades are to be removed and providing for a penalty was on motion of Alderman Curlee, seconded by Alderman McDowell, placed on its first reading by the following yea and nay vote; Alderman Curlee yea Bralley yea " McDowell yea Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance p303 passed on its first reading by all the Aldermen present voting yea. ORDINANCE # 304 An ordinance prohibiting any person, firm, or corporation, or any officer, representative or em loye of said cornoration from hauling or moving ove r the paved streets and alleys in the L'i'y of ,o'ichita Falls, Texas all tractors, heavy trucks using mud chains, drilling machinery, and similat vehicles, stating conditions for hauling or moving when necessary to use the raved streets aid alleys and providing for a penalty was on motion of Aldermen Curlee, seconded by Alderman McDowell, placed on i .s first reading by the following yea and nay'vote: Alderman Curlee yea " Bralley Yea " McDowell yea Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance .304 passed on its first reading by all the Aldermen present voting yea. ORDINANCE NO 301 An oridnance granting to the North Texas Gas Co. the right to increase itd rates fornatural gas sold to gas users within the City of ichita Falls, hichita County, Texas, and fixing the price to be charged by it for natural gas sold within said City of "ichita Falls, Texas, and amending "An ordinance giving and granting to M.. . Bohan, his associates and assig s the right to construct and operate gas works 1n the City of 4ichita Falls, Texas, and the ri ht to lay mains and pipes and make all connections in the streets snd alleys of the City of ..ichita Falls and to do all other things necessary to the operation of said gas works" in so far as it conflicts with the provisions of this ordinance as on motion of Alderman Curlee, seconded by Alderman :IcDowell, placed on its first reading by the following yea and nay votes Alderman Curlee yea Bralley yea McDowell yea Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance No. 301 passed on its first reading by all the Aldermen present voting yea.
