Min 09/30/1920 Wichita Fall's, Texas. September 30th, 1920. The Board of Aldermen met in re -alar session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City with Mayor W.D. Cline presiding, and Aldermen McFall, Curlee, McDowell, Bonner, Bralley, and City Clerk Thorburn in attendance. Moved by Alderman McFall that the matter of sidewalk from North end of Clark Street to alley for East side residents be re- ferred to the City Engineer and that he locate exactly where said side- walk shall be put in, which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried, Moved by alderman McFall that a permit be granted Andre & Emmert to install a Gasoline Filling Station at 1107 Eighth St. under the usual provisions,to-wit: That Andre & Emmert, their successors and assigns, legal representatives and administrators hold the City harmless from anpt dam- ages that may arise from the installation of said Gasoline Filling Sta- tion and that same be installed under the supervision of the City Eng- ineer and that same be promptly removed on request of the Board of Aldermen, which motion was seoonded by Alderman McDowell add carried, Complaint was then made by several residents of Jeffer- son Street that the County Engineer had torn out theit water line when grading the street and the Mayo r instructed the City Engineer to see Mr. Isbell, the County Engineer, to see if same releif could be given said citizens. A petition was then read asking that the proposed Sewer extension take in th Blakely Addition and this matter was re- ferred to the City Engineer for his opinion in the matter. Moved by Aldermen Bonner that Adrian & Rosser be_per- mitted to use the space between the curb and sidewalk on the North West corner of Eighth and Austin for a tool house and storage of material during the erection of a one st ry brick building at that point, which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried. Moved byAlderman McDowell that Chenault $ Wheat be per- mitted to place a gasoline tank under the sidewalk near the curb on the Burnett St. side of their building at Cor. of Tenth & Burnett under the usual provisions to-wit: That Chenault & Wheat, their successors and assigns, legal representatives and administrators hold the City harmless from any damages that may arise from the installation of said Gasoline Tank, and that it be installed under the supervision of the City Engineer & removed promptly on request of the Board of Aldermen, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. ORDINANCE NO. 312. An ordinance to license, tax, and regulate vehicles en- gaged in the transfer of baggage, freight, furniture, or any commodity for hire within the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and establishing stands for same, and prohibiting the standing of such vehicles at places other than herein provided, prescribing a penalty and declaring an emergency was on motion of Alderman Curlee, seconded by Alderman Bonner, placed on its second reading by the following yea and nay vote; Alderman Curlee yea • " Bralley yea Bonner yea " McFall yea " McDowell yea Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance passed on its second reading by all the Aldermen present voting yea. 36 ORDINANCE # 311 An ordinance regulating the keeping of hogs in the City of Wichita Falls, also regulating hog pens, providing for a penalty, and declaring an emergency, was on motion of Alderman Curlee, seconded b y Alder- man Bonner, passed on its third and final reading by the following yea and may vote: Alderman Curlee yea " Bonner yea • Bralley yea • McFall yea • McDowedl yea Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance # 311 passed on its third and final reading by all the Aldermen present voting yea. Moved by Alderman Bonner that Ordinance #311 be passed "as read" hihh motion w as seconded by Alderman Bralley and carried, ORDINANCE # 317. An ordinance prohibiting the erection of houses, struc- tures or buildings in the streetsm alleys, sidewalks, or public roads ways of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, prohibiting the occupancy or use of same, declaring same to be a nuisance, declaring that this or- dinance is an emergency measure, suspending the rules and providing for a penalty" Moved by Alderman Bonner that the rules requiring the ordinances to be read on three separate days be suspended which motion Eas seconded by Alderman Curlee & carried. The ordinance was then read and Alderman Bonner moved that this ordinance # 317 be finally passed, which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried, by the following yea and nay tote: Alderman Bonner yea " Curlee yea " Bralley yea " McFall yea McDowell yea Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance #317 passed on its final reading by reason of the rules being suspended, and all of the Aldermanpresent voting yea.
