Oct. 7th, 1920.
The Board of Aldermen met in regular session on the above
date for the transaction of the business of the City with Mayor W. D. Cline
presiding and Aldermen Bralley, McDowell, Bonner, Curiae and city Clerk Thorburn
in attendance.
Minutes of the former meeting were read and approved.
Moved by Aldermen Curlee that the eestland Hotel be perm-
itted to install a fuel oil tank in the rear of the Hotel in the alley, same
to j:,e placed under ground under the usual provisions to wit:
That the said nestland Hotel, its successors and assigns,
legal representatives and administrator hold the City harmless from any damages
that may arise from the installation of said fuel oil tank, and that same be
installed under the supervision of the City Engineer and that it be removed
promptly on request of the Board of 41dermen.
which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bonner that the maintenance fund amounting
to 4)2100.00 00 the Denver- Rose- Eighth St paving, be invested in vendor lien
not s of Wm. Weber and H. H. Karreniock.
which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried.
ORDINANCE 312.
An ordinance to license, tax and regulate vehicles engaged
in the transfer of baggage freight furniture or any commodity for hire in The
City of Wichita rails, 'eras and establishing stands for same and prohibiting
the standing of such vehicles at places other than herein provided, prescribing
a penalty and declaring an emergency".
was on motion of Alderman McDowell seconded by Alderman
Bonner placed on its third and final reading by the following yea and nay vote.

Bralley yea
Mayor Cline then declared Ordinance 312 passed on its
third and final reading by all of the Aldermen present voting yea .
Moved by Alderman McDowell that Ordinance 312 be passed
"as read" which motion was seconded by alderman Bonner and carried.
Moved by Alderman Curiae, that the resignation of Alderman
Mcrall now before the Board be accepted, by reason of the fact that Mcrall has
requested that his resignation be acted on as soon as possible, and that the
thanks of the Board of Aldermen be extended to McJr•all for his faithful ser-
vices and loyalty to the City of Wichita r'alls,
which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bonner that R. E. Shepherd be appointed
in place of d.M.Mcrvall resigned.
which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bonner that the petition to pave the alley
between 9th and 10th and Indiana & Scott be accepted and that the street Supt.
be ddr.eoted to"db'_tie grading as soon as he can reach it.
