"There was presented to theBoard of Aldermen by the Mayor for its consideration and passage, an ordinance No.322 entitled "An Ordinance amending a certain Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance establishing and fixing the rate of Taxation etc." which ordinance was passed and approved on the 16th day of Sept. A. D. 1920, and being Ordinance No. 315 so as to hereinafter read as follows and declaring anemergency." Moved by Alderman McDowell, seconded by Alderman Curlee, that the ordinance be read in full. Motion carried and the ordinance was read in full by the City Clerk. Moved by Alderman McDowell, seconded by Alderman Curlee that the ordinance pass its first reading. This ordinance No. 322 follows: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A CERTAIN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING TH3 RATE OF TAXATION ETC". WHICH ORDINANCE WAS PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 16TH DAY OF SEPT. A. D. 1920, AND BEING ORDI- NANCE NO. 315 SO AS TO HEREINAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." BE IT ORDAined BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. SECTION 1. There shall be levied, assessed and collected for the year A. D. 1900, an ad valorem tar of Forty Five (46') cents on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, subject to taxation under the Cha rter of said City. Said tax shall be levied and collected for the current expenses add for general improvements of the City and its property, to be knew n a as the General fund. SECTION 2. There shall be levied, assessed and collected for the year A. D. 192O,an ad valore m tax of Twelve (1251) cents on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under the charter of said City for the purpose of laying oat, opening constructing repairing and improving the reads, bridges and streets within the limits of said City, to be known as the Street fund. SECTION #3. There shall be levied assessed and collected for the year A. D. 1920, an ad valorem tax of .024697 cents on each 5 ) OneHundred ($100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under theCharter of said City.tsx Said tax shall be levied and collected for the purpose of establishing, prov- iding, maintaining and operating a Bublic Library, to be known as a Library Fund. SECTION 4. There shall be levied, assessed and collected, for the year A. D. 1920, an ad valorem tax of ten (10¢) cents on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under the charter of said City. Said tax shall be levied and collected for the current expenses in maintaining, im proving and beautifying public parks and cemeteries, and maintaining and im- proving public play grounds, and to be known as the Park Fund. SECTION 5. There shall be levied, assessed and collected for the year A. D. 1920, an ad valorem tax, the several amounts of which are set out below, on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within 'he limits of said City, subject to taxation under the Charter of said City for the purpose of paying off the (interest and creating a sinking fund for the redemption of the hereinafter described bonds, which were heretofore legally issued for the purpose named below. The several rates of taxation levied for the retirement of the principal and interest on each cf said bonds issues are described as follows, to-wit: A tax of .00319 cents on each One Hundred (*100.) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under the charter of said City, is hereby levied and assessed for the purpose of paying the interest and creating a sinking fund for the redcap tion of Fourteen Thousand Five Hundred ($14,500.00) Dollars of Forty (40) year, Five per cent (5%) City Hall Bonds. A tax of .00179 cents on each One Hundred ($100) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City subject to taxation under theCharter of Said City, is hereby levied and assessed for the pur owe of paying the interest and creating a sinking fund for the redem- ption of Seven Thousand Five Hundred ($7,500.00) Dollars of Forty (40) year Five (5%) Per Cent Fire Station Bonds. A tax of .006 cents on each One Hundred (100.00) Dollars of th assessed value of all property within the limits of said City subject to taxation under the Charter of said City, is hereby levied and assessed for the purpose of paying interest and creating a sinking fund for the redemption of Twenty Five Thousand ($25,000.00) worth of forty (40) year, Five (5%) Per cent Hospital Bonds. A tax of .00227 cents on each One Hundred( $100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under the Charter of said City, is hereby levied and assessed for the purpose of paying off the interest and creating a sink- ing fund for the redemption of Eleven Thousand ($11,000.00) Dollars of forty (40) year, Four (4%) Per cent Refunding Bonito. A tax pf .00416 cents on each One Hundred (0100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under theCharter of said City, is h reby levied and assessed for the purpose of paying off the interest and creating a sinking fund for the redemp tion of Seventeen Thousand Five Hundred ($17,500.00) Dollars of forty (40) year Five (5%) per cent Paving Bonds. A tax of .018 cents on each One Hundred (0100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under the Charter of said City, is hereby levied and assessed for the purpose of paying off the interest and creating a sinking fund for the redemption of Seventy Five Thousand (075,000.00) Dollars of forty (40) year Five (5%) per cent Street Bonds. A tax of .206752 cents on each One Hundred ( 100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City subject to taxation under the charter of said City, is hereby levied and assessed for the purpose of °eying off the interest and creating a sinking fund for the redemption of Seven Hundred Thousand (0700.000.00) Dollars of thirty year Six (6% Per cent Sanitary Sewer, Bonds. A tax of .100422 cents on each One Hundred (0100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under the charter of said City, is hsrWby levied and assessed for the purppse of paying off the interest and creating a sinking fund for the redemption of Three hundred and forty Thousand (4340.000.00) Dollars of thirty year six (6%) per cent Streit Improvement Bonds. A tax of .0074 cents on each One Hundred (0100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City subject to taxation under the Charter of said Ct$y, is hereby levied add assessed for the purpose of paying off the interest and creating a sinking fund for the re- demption of Twenty Five Thousand ($25,000.00) Dollars of thirty year six (6%) per cent Incinerator Bonds. A tax of .0222 cents on each One Hundred (0100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said. City, subject to taxation under the Charter of said City is hereby levied and assessed for the purpose of paying off the interest and creating a sinking fund for the redemp., tion of Seventy Five Thousand ( 75,000.00) Dollars of Thirty year six (6%) per cent Hospital Bonds. t • w 52. • SECTION 6. There shall be levied, assessed and collected for the year A. D. 1920, for the purpo e "of raying off the interest and crest ing a sinking fund for the redemption of the hereinafter described bonds, which were heretofore legally issued for thepurpose hereinafter named, an ad valorem tax of .249072 cents on each One Hundred (4100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property w thin the limits of said City subject to taxation un- der the Charter of said City, said Bonds are descrihied as follows: WATER WORKS BONDS 40 year - 5j 800,000.00 Do 30 " 6% 200,000.00 SECTION 7. There shall be levied, assessed and collected for the year A. D. 1920, for the purpose of paying off the interest and crea- ting a sinking fund for the redemption of the hereinafter described bonds, which were heretofore legally issued for the purpose hereinafter named an ad valorem tax of.015707 cents on each One Hundred (4100.00) Dollars of the assessed value of all property within the limits of said City, subject to taxation under the Charter of said City, said Bonds are described as follows: Park and Cemetery Bonds -40 year - 0- 435,000.00 Do 30 " 6% 25,000.00 SECTION 8. There shall be levied, assessed and collected from every person, firm, corporation, company or association of persons foll- owing or pursuing a:ly occupation taxable under the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, one half of the amount of tax that is charged said person firm, corroration, company or ass- ociation of persons under the laws of the State of Texas for following or pur suing said occupation; and that any person, firm, corporation, company mr association of persons who shall follow or pursue any occupation, calling or profession or do any act taxable under the provision of said State laws or who shall represent, as agent, any person, firm, corporation,company or associat- ion of persons followin6 any occupation so taxed, without first having paid the tax required by law, shall upon conviction in the Corporation Court or in any Court having jurisdiction thereof, be fined in any sum not less than the tax due nor more than double said amount and that any one prosecuted for the violation of said law shall have the right to have his case dismissed upon the payment of the tax and the accrued cost. ########################################## ######### ###### # 58
