Min 12/20/1920 t Morgan. Building, Wichita Falls, Texas. December 20th, 1920. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City. Present: W.D. Cline Mayor W.S. Curlee ) R.E. Shepherd ) M.O. McDowell ) Aldermen W.N.Bonner W.G. Bralley ) Geo.W. Thorburn City Clerk Moved by Alderman Mc➢owell that the Wichita Falls Electric Company be requested to vacate the premises now occupied by the stand pipe, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. Moved by Alderman Curlee that Sidewalks be ordered in on both sides of Indiana Avenue from End Street to 6th Street, which'motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. Moved by Alderman Bralley that Tenth Street from West side of Scott as far Last as necessary, be repaired by replacing the wood blocks with four (4) inches of concrete, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the plumbing contract for the new fire station at Buchanan anal Ave. H. be awarded to Hoff::ian & Co. for $1,238.00, which motion was seconded by Alderman. Curlee and carried. Moved by Alderman Curlee that the City Clerk be instructed to issue wary nt in favor of the Chamber of Commerce for 03,661.23, same being money advanced to the Wichita Falls Water Company for installation of water mains in Call Field, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. Moved by Alderman Bonner that Mr. Markowitz be permitted to place a sign in front of his business, to-wit: Baum & Gardner Store on Eighth Street between Ohio Ave & Indiana Ave., under the usual provisions,t o- witt That the said Markowitz, his successors and assigns, ad- ministrators and legal representatives shall hold the City harmless from any damages that may arise from the installation of said sign, that said sign be installed according to instructions of the 'City Engineer and that said sign shall be removed at once on request of the City Council, which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell & carried. Moved by Alderman Bonner that the Fire Chief be authorized to order twenty (20) new Gamewell Fire Alarm Boxes, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. Moved by Alderman Bonner that the sum of 017.00 be ref- unded to J. R. Cox, being the amount due him from the sale of two calves in the pound which sold for 036.00 with charges against them of 019.00 as shown by J. 0. Colvin pound master for the City, which motion was seconed by Alderman Curlee and carried. Moved by Alderman Curlee that the note for $16500.00 given by Ellis for the old Tents Street Fire Station, be taken up from J. A. Kemp who advanced money against the note until such time as the City could take it up which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
