The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas met in regular session on the above date with the foll-
owing present:

Mr. Murphy, Auditor for County of Vichita then
presented bills for repairing and extensions to Pest House and Gen-
eral Hospital showing an amount of $ /'?D 6c6° due by City and
Alderman Curlee moved that these bills be paid if found correct by
City Clerk, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and carried.
Moved by Alderman Bonner that the following
sums be refunded.
R. Flood ^200.00
J. B. Marlow 200.00
Al. Richolt $100.00
which amounts were paid to the Wichita Base-Ball
association for a plot of gtound which has been deeded to the City for
Street purposes; and that City Clerk be instructed to issue warrants
for same as soon as the Deed has been approved by the City Attorney,
which motion was seconded by Alderman Curleeand
carried.
Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Shain Jewelry
Co., be permitted to install a sign in front of their businesson Ohio
Avenue, provided that the sign pass inspection of the City Engineer
and that Shain Jewelry Co remove the sign at any time on the request
of the Board of Aldermen,
which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and
carried.

WHEREAS, ontract in writing between the City of Wichita
Falls and T xas Bitulithic Company, being one contract for t e improvement of
each of the foilowing portions of streets in ::=aid city, to-wit:
Avenue A, from the South property line of Tenth Street
to the South property line of Eleventh Street;

together with construction bonds and maintenance bonds required by each of
said contracts, are this day .resented to the Board of Aldermen for adoption
and approval; and
WHEREAS, the bid of Texas Bitnlithic Company for the
making and ocnstruction of the improvements provided for in the said con-
tracts, has, after due advertisement and notice, been made and upon the open-
ing of the bids said contracts were awarded to the said Company; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary to set aside and pro-

ontracts to be raid for by the City ofWiohita Falls;

R E S O L U T I ON
WHEREAS, contracts in writing between Texas Bitulithic
Company and the City of Wichita Falls, for the performing of all work of ex-
cavation in connection with the improvement of Avenue A, from the South. pro-
perty line of Tenth Street to the South property line of Eleventh Street; and
Ninth Street from the West property line of Denver Street to 100 feet of the
est property line of Taylor Street; and Grant Street from 100 feet North of
the North property line of Avenue D to the the center of the intersection
with Avenue H, and eighth Street from the East property line of Bluff Street
to the West property line of Brook Street, and binding the City of Wichita.
Falls, for the prices therein named, and upon the terms therein set forth,
to do and perform all work of excavation upon eacg of said streets, as is
provided in each of the said contracts, being one contract for each of said
portions of streets, are this day presented to the Board of Aldermen for
adoption and approval; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable to enter into said
contracts upon the terms set forth therein, and fo- the compensation therein
provided.
Therefore, Be it Resolved by the Board of Aldermen
of the City of Wichita Falls;
1.
That the City of Wichita Falls do enter into contracts
with Texas Bitulithic Company, binding the City id do and perform all the
work of excavation shown in said contracts and on each of the said streets,
being a separate contratt for each of the said portions of streets above set
forth, at and far the prices and upon the terms therein stipule-tad and set
forth.

That the said contracts and each of them be and the
same are hereby approved and adopted, and the Mayor is hereby authorized and
directed to execute and sign each of the said contradts in the name of the
City.

That this resolution shall take effect from and after
its passage.

only one bid received, However after the City Engineer recommended that the
City accpet s me, Alderman Bonner moved that the contract be let to L.E.
Whitham & Co.
which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and. carried
Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Mayor appoint a
Committee to investigate all signs in the Fire Limits,
which motion was seconded by Alderman McDowell & carried.
The Mayor then appointed City Engineer Montgomery,
City Inppector Montgomery, and City Fire Chief McClure, to -erne on this
committee.

AND OPERATE A STANDARD GUAGE CAR LINE OR LINES ON, OVER, AND ACROSS;and UPON
THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED AND NAMED STREETS IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS TEXAS

(a) Beginning at a point where Ninth Strer4erseots with
Broad Street; thence in a northerly direction along saidita a point where sail
Broad Streetinterseots with Eighth Street in an easterly direction to a point
where said Eighth Street intersects with the present oar line on Indiana Avenue.
(b) Also beginning at a point where Grace Street intersects

"An Ordinance amending section three of Ordinance 257 entitled
"An Ordinance giving and granting unto the Wichita Falls Traction Co., its suc-
cessors, assigns and lessees the right to operate, construct and maintain a street
car line over and along certain streets of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,and
repealing so much of Ordinance 108 and 187, of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
as requires the Wichita Falls Traction Co., its successors, assigns and lessees
to pave any part of the streets of Wichita Falls, Texas, occupied by said Street
Railway belonging to the Wichita Palls Traction Co.,and so much of said Ordinan-
ces as recuired the payment of a gross receipts tax of two per cent to said
City when its pupalation reaches twenty five thousand and providing that a gross
receipts tax of two per cent shall be paid by said Wichita Falls Traction Co.,
its successors, assigns, and lessees, when its net earnings exclusive of all
. taxes paid shall amount to eight per cent on the amount of its actual investment.
