Min 03/14/1921 Morgan Building, Wichita Falls, Texas. March 14th, 1921. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas met in regular session on the above date with the following present:- W. D. Cline, Mayor W. G. Bralley,Q 0 R. E. ShepherdQ ALDERMEN W. N. Thorhurn, City Clerk Moped by ALDERMAN Bonner that the City Attorney report on the ole.ms made by Ben O'Neal and David Goldberg be accepted and that olaims be rejected, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd, and carried. Mored by Alderman Bonner that the Adams Water Co., be per- mitted to install a private asoline filling station on their property on Holliday Street adjoining the Railroad under the usual °auditions to-wit:- That the said Adams Water Co., their successors and assigns legal representatives and administrators hold the City harmless from any damages that may arise from the installation of said Gasoline filling station and that same be installed under the supervision of the City Engineer and that this filling station shall be removed at once whenever the Board of Alderman request its removal, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. ######## $4$ Moved by Alderman Bonner that the Mears Gasoline Co., be per- mitted to remove an underground tank under the sidewalk in front of Dixon Motor Co., on Scott Avenue. which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd end carried. x x x x x x x x Moved by Alderman Bonner that pg ,� o proh th on Luoile Ohio, and orb o ad3ourge ^for/o wbdlf;"gZ 4.2 7.30 .'ri. Be It Resolved by the Board aE' Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas: That Whereas, the 'Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas has heretofore ordered the property abutting:- Lots 5 and 6 Block 80 Floral Heights Addition improved by raising, grading and filling same and installing concrete curbs and. gutters, and paving with Tarvia Pavement on crushed rook foundation, and also heretofore ordered the property abutting Ninth Street at the N. W. intersection and 100 feet West of West side Buchanan Street improved by raising, grading and filling same and installing concrete curbs and gutters and paving with Concrete, and Whereas, by resolution of the Board of Aldermen adopted on the 14th February 1921, it was ordered that a hearing to all owners of property abutting on said portions of said Streets and all others interested, be held in the Council Chamber in the Morgan Buildingat 7:30 p.m on the 14th day of March, 1921, and that notice thereof be given; and 18g Whereas, due notice of the time and plane of such hearing was given and such hearing held, and all parties their agents and attorneys and all others desiring to be heard, have been fully and fairly heard, and at such hearing there were no protests made:- Therefore the Board of Aldermen finds from the evidence before. it that no property will be damaged, by means of or as a result of any of said improvements. The Board further finds from the evidence before it that the proper rule of apportionment of the cost of such improvements is that applied and shown on the estimates, reports and statements of the City Engineer filed on the 14th February 1921, and examined and approved by the Board, and that such produces and effects substantial equality and justice between the various lots and parcels of land shown and affected thereby and the respective owners thereof, and the Board further finds from the evidence that each parcel or lot of land abutting on said portions of Monro Street and Ninth Streets will be benefitted in en- hanced value by means of such improvements on said portions of Monroe Street and Ninth Street in an amount in excess of the portion of costa to be assessed against same as shown on said estimates, reports and statements of the City Engineer. That said sums be assessed against said lots or parcels of property and against the owners thereof, and the City Attorney is hereby direetbd to prepare form of Ordinance levying such assessments in accordance with the charter and laws in force in this City and in accordance with the Ordinances, Resolutions and other nroceedinga of the City applicable thereto. That said hearing be and it is hereby closed as to all par- ties and as to all said improvements. That this Resolution take effect from and after its passage. ORDINANCE 349 "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE CONSTRUMION AND MAINTENANCE OF SUSPENDED SIGNS OVER THE SIDEWALKS AND PUBLIC STREETS OP THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS". was on motion of Alderman Curlee placed on its first read- ing and passed by the following vote:- Yeas:- Bonner, Bralley, Shephe r'd, Curlee. Nayes:- None. • Moved by Alderman Bonner that Street Commissioner Curlee be authorized to buy 8 dump wagons from the County for approximately $150.00 each, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. • ############4## Moved by Aiierman Curies that the City Clark request the North Texas Gas Company to furnish the Engineering Department with a map show- ing the exact location of the Gas maines in the City. which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and parried. Snodgrass--- 14.50 18 8 Sibley Taylor which motion was seconded by Aldermen Shepherd, and carried. 1c Moved by Alderman Curiae that the City Attorney be authorized to file condemnation proceedings against Lots, owned by Mrs Coates, across the railroad on Broad Street, and in Sibley Taylor Addition, whioh motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. Moved by Ilderman Bonner_ that the City Attorney be authorized to appear for the City in the case of Sayler, versus Wichita Falls Elec- tric Co., et al, which motion was seconded by Alderman Curiae and carried.
