Min 04/11/1921 Morgan Building Wichita Falls, Texas. April llth, 1921. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regu]Ar session on the above date with the following present: W. D. Cline, Mayor W. G. Bralley 0 0 W. N. Bonner 00 ALDERMEN R. E. Shepherd p Geo. W. Thorburn, City Clerk Louis Jermigan, manager of the County Farm, and Pest House appeared before the Council and requested that the Board of Aldermen furnish him with certain Sewer pipe to be used at the County Farm in Irrigation purposes and Alderman Bonner moved that the Board of Aldermen appropriate;- 16 pieces of six inch sewer pipe and, ~� 10 pieces of 24 inch sewer pipe, for purpose above stated. which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. ORDINANCE 360 "An Ordinance directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the improvement of portion of 15th Street and declaring an emergency". was on motion of Alderman Shepherd seconded by Alderman Bonner put on its first reading and passed by the following vote:- Yeas: Bonner, Shepherd, Bralley. Nayes: None. ############# The iteturne of the Election held on April 5th 1921 were then canvassed and Alderman Bonner moved that the following Resolution be adopted, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried by the foll- owing vote:- Yeas: Bonner, Bralley, Shepherd. Nayes: None. • " RESOLUTI ON" That whereas, at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, held at its regular meeting place in the basdment of the Morgan Building in the City of Wichita Falls, on the llth day of April, 1921, came on to be considered the returns of the City election held on the 5th day of April, A. D. 1921, for the purpose of electing three (3) Alderman of the City of Wichita Falls and being known and designated as place No. one (1), place No. Two (2), and place No. Three (3) who shall compose members of the Board of Aldermen when duly, elected and qualified in accordance with the City Charter in such case made and provided and it appearing that said election was in all respects legally held and said returns duly and legally made, and that there were cast at said election 1819 Court House,564 City Nall,making a total of 2383 votes. That, for place No. One W. G. Bralley received 937 votes. George H. Hodgins received 808 votes. William Lawrence Smith received 45 votes. R. L. Yates received 548 votes. � . 2()8 That, for place No. Two. J. F. Reed, received 1207 votes. Joe B. Hatchitt, received 1094 votes. That, for place No. three R. E. Shepherd, received 1433 votes Rhea Howard, received 886 votes. And it appearing that for place No. One W. G. Bralley received the greatest number of votes cast at aaid election. That, for place number two J. F. Reed received the greatest number of votes cast at said election. That, for place number three R. E. Shepherd received the greatest number of votes cast at said election. Therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, that W. G. Bralley received the greatest number of votes cast at said election, for place number one. That, J. F. Reed received the greatest number of votes cast at said election for place number two. That R. E. Shepherd, received the greatest number of votes cast at said election, for place number three, and that said W. G. Bralley 1s hereby dec- lared to be duly and legally elected as Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, for place Number One. That, J. F. Reed is hereby declared to be duly and legally elected as Aldermen for the City of Wichita Falls, for place number two. That R. E. Shepherd is hereby declared duly and legally elected as Alderman for the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, for place number three, and That said election was in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas. The Mayor then administered the oath of office to W. G. Bwalley R. E. Shepherd J. F. Reed. Moved by Alderman Reed that R. E. Shepherd, be authorized to employ a certified accountant, to audit the books of the City for year ending March 31st, 1921 as required by Charter, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and MIMMMM Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the City Clerk be instructed to adverts se for bids for the publishing of all legal notices and ordinances of the City cf Wichita Falls, Texas; to be sealed bids to be opened at 8 P. M. March 25th 1921 at the Council Chamber. which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and carried. HMIHMHHH Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the City Clerk be instructed to adver- tise for a City Depository to be sealed bids to be opened at 8 P. M. March 25th 1921 in the Council Chamber. which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley, and carried. The Board of Aldermen then adjourned. Reed and approved this 18th day of april 1921.
