Thorburn, City Clerk Moved by Alderman Curlee that action be deferred on permit for operating a bakery and grocery store on alley between 9th and 10th streets and Harrison and Van Buren Streets, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. ############ Moved by Alderman Shepherd that a permit to pperate a grocery store at 1108, 13th Street be refused, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. #####iiiii Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the following taxes be refunded, Frederick Thampson----$4.35 Taxes paid twice on lot 6, B1k.22 and Lot 4 Blk 12, Sibley Taylor Addition, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. #####4##### Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the Mayor be authorized to sign Contract with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., for a P.B.X. Board for the Fire Dep- art ment. which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. ## ###### • Moved by Alderman Reed that the City purchase the following apparatus for the Laboratory at City Hail, One Say-bolt Standard Visoosimeter- Est. cost 75.00 One flash Point Aparatus 410.00 One Platinum crucible $15.00 which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. #######44## Moved by Alderman Bonner that the audit made by Hutohinson & Smith for the City for the fiscal year April 1st, 1919, to March 31st 1920 be accep- ted, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. ####### .. 222" ORDINANCE 363 "AN ORDINANCE TO CARRY INTO EFFECT THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER II TITLE 22 OF THE REVISED STATUTES OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, 1911, AND THE PROVISIONS OF THE CITY CHARTER OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS TEXAS, RELATING TO STREET IMPROVEMENTS, AND PEOVIDIN& FOR NOTICE AND HEARING TO PROPERTY OWNERS AND OTHERS, AND FOR ASS- ESSMENTS FOR SUCH IMPROVEMENTS AND REPEALING ORDINANCES AND PROCEEDINGS IN CON- FLICT HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY". was on motion of Alderman Curiae, seconded by Alderman Bralley put on its third and final reading and passed by the following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Bralley, Curlee, Bonner, Shepherd. Moved by Alderman Curiae, seoonded by Alderman Shepherd, that the rules requiring Ordinances to be read on three separate days be suspended. Motion carried by following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Curiae, Bralley, Bonner, Shepherd. Hayes: None. Moved by Alderman Curiae, seconded by Alderman Shepherd that Ordinanoe 364 be passed on its final reading. Motion carried by following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Curies, Bralley, Bonner, Shepherd. Hayes: None. #####'# ##### ORDINANCE 366 "AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF WILLOW AVENUE, WALKER AVENUE AND FOUNTAIN AVENUE, AND THE ALLEYS RUNNING THROUGH BLOCKS FOUR AND NINE SOUTH PARK ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EMRGENCY". The Ordinance was then read by the Mayor. Moved by Alderman Curlee, seoonded by Alderman Bonner that Ordinanoe 366, be passed on its first reading. Motion carried by following vote:- Yeas: Bonner, Bralley, Curiae, Reed, Shepherd. Nayes: None. Moved by Alderman Ourlee, seconded by Alderman Benner that the rules requiring Ordinances to be read on three separate days be suspended. Motion carried by following vote: Yeas: Bonner, Bralley, Ourlee, Reed, Shepherd. Mayes: None. Moved by Alderman Curlee, seconded by Alderman Bonner that Ordinance 366, be passed on its second reading. Motion carried by following vote:- Yeas: Bonner, Bralley, Curiae, Reed, Shepherd. Nayes: None. 223 Bids were then opened for the paving of portions of various Streets and were turned over to the City Engineer for tabulation, and to be returned to the Board at 10 A. Reed, be authorized to pur- ohase Blks. 34 and 35, Barwise and Jaloniok Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, for a tourist Park, provided that satisfactory terms can be made, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley, and carried. Moved by Alderman Curlee that all the bids for pavement submitted by contractors be rejeoted, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley and carried. Moved by Alderman Reed that W. S. Curlee and W. G. Bralley be author- ized to make necessary ohanges in the City Hall to a000modate the Engineering %`% Department, and Police Department, which motion was seconded by Alderman Shenherd,and carried. ###### ` The Board of Alderman then recessed until 10 A.
