The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met
in regular session on the above date with the following present:

Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Mayor appoint a Committee to
look into the proposition of negroes settling around the new school house,
which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried.
The Mayor then appointed Dr. J. F. Reed and W. N. Bonner to act with
himself on said committee.

Moved by Alderman Shepherd that all proceedings in the paving of a
portion of Sixth Street between Indiana Avenue and Ohio Avenue be stopped at
this time,
which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried.

Moved by Alderman Shepherd, that all proceedings pertaining to the
paving on Indiana Avenue between 6th Street and the County paving on Front
Street be stopped at this time, and that the New Petition presented by the
owners of property on this portion of Indian, Avenue be referred to Alderman
Curiae for investigation and recommendation,
which motion was seconded by Alderman Bralley, and carried.

Street and Holliday Street, be extendeduntil Monday 18th, Iuly 1921.
which motion was seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried.

100 feet North of N. P. R. of Avenue D to centre line of Avenue H be accepted •
as per the recommendation of the City Engineer and that the following resolut-

NORTH OF THE N. P. LINE OF AVE "D" STREET TO ITS, INTERSECTION ••11TH THE CENTRE •
SINE OF AVENUE "H", AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES
OF SPECIAL ASSESS1MMT IN EVIDENCE OF THE SPECIAL ASSESSLENT LEVIED AGAINST THE
VARIOUS LOTS OR TRACTS OF LAND AND THE OWNERS TElitEOF ABUTTING UPON SAID PORTION
OF SAID STREET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS:
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls has
heretofore ordered that Grant Street, from 100 feet North of the North Property
line of Avenue "Jr to its intersection with the center line of Avenue "H", be
improved by raising, grading and filling the same and installing concrete curbs
. 27.3 and gutters and paving same, and after due notice and hearing special assessments
were levied against the various lots and tracts of land and the owners thereof
abutting upon the said portion of said street, and contract for the making and
construction of the said improvements was entered into with Texas Bitulithic
Company; and,
WHEREAS. the said Texas Bitulithic Company has fully performed its
said contract and the said improvements have been made and constructed in acc-
ordance with the said contract and the specifications therefor, and to the
entire satisfaction of this Board:
I.
That the said improvements on said portion of said street be and the
same are hereby accepted and the said Texas Bitulithic Company, and the sureties
on its construction band, are hereby released of any further obligations for or
' on account of the contract or bond for the making and constructing of said
improvement s.
II.
That thia resolution does not and shall not in any wise affect the bk
bond of the said company for the maintenance of the said improvements, but such
maintenance bond shall and does remain in full force and effect.
III.
That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized,
instructed, and directed to issue to the Texas Bitulithic Company certificates
of special assessment in evidence of the various assessments levied against the
respective lots and parcels of land abutting upon the said portion of said street
and the owners thereof, and against which special assessments have been levied
reciting the description of such property, the amount of the assessments against
same, the owner thereof, the terms of payment thereof, the rate of interest the
date of completion and acceptance of the said improvements, the lien of the said
assessment and the personal obligation and liability of the owner of the prop-
erty, and reciting that all proceedings with reference to making such improve-
ments have been regularly had in compliance with the law, the Charter of said
City, and the terms of the certificate, and that all prerequisities to the fix-
ing of a lien and claim of personal liability evidenced by the certificates have
been performed, and containing other appropriate and pertinent recitals, and in
accordance with the contract with the said company and the law in force in this
city, and the proceedings of this Board.
IV.
This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage.

Mrs Gillette, representing the Civic League of the North Side
addressed the Board Of Aldermen requesting helid in getting adequate Water
Supply, Telephone and light service and transportation for 65 children who
will have to attend So'hool on this side of the River next fall.
No definite action taken by the Board.

OF PAYMENT, AND THE RATE OF INTEREST THEREON, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE

Mr. C. W. Snyder then addressed the Board on the advisability of
the County & City taking over Call Field Hospital and the Mayor and Members
of the Board agreed to meet with the County Commissioners at 10 A. M. Thurs-
day 14th July and discuss the matter.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
