Min 10/03/1921 Morgan Building, Wichita Falls, Texas. October 3rd, 1921. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, met in regular session on the above date with the following present:- • W. D. Cline, Maier W. S. Curlee 1 J. F. Reed J. B. Fitts ALDERMEN R. ,E. Shepherd W. N. Bonner J Geo W. therb , City Clerk ############MH Mowed by Alderman Fitts that the City Clerk be instructed to notify the Fort Worth & Denver By Co., to clean out and repair the viaduct on Fourth Street. Motion seconded by Alderman Reed, and carried. ORDINANCE 386 "AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FATJTS EX OFFICIO CLERK OF THE CORPORATION COURT OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, AUTHORIZING HIM TO APPOINT, BY AND WITH THE CONSENT OF THE BARD OF ALDERMEN SUCH DEPUTIES AS MAY BE NECESSARY: PROVIDING FOR A BOND FOR SAID DEPUTIES,AND PRESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES AND DECLARING THIS TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE". was on motion of Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman Shepherd placed on its first reading and passed by following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Shepherd, Curlee, Fitts, Bonner. Nayes: None. Moved by Alderman Reed that the rules requiring ordinances to be read on three separate days be suspended. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried by following vote:- - Yeas: Reed, Shepherd, Fitts, Curlee, Bonner. Nayes: None. Moved by Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman shepherd that Ordinance 386 be placed on its second reading;- Motion serried by following vote:- Yeas: Reed, shepherd, Fitts, Curlee, Bonner. Hayes: None. Moved by Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman Shepherd that Ordinance 386 be placed on its third and final reading. Motion carried by following vote:- Yeas: need, Shepherd, Fitts, Curie., Bonner. Nayes: None. The City Clerk then requested the approval of the Board of Aldermen for appointments he had made as follows:- John Thomason-- Day Deputy Lee McDonald---Night Deputy and Alderman Reed moved that these appointments be approved and ratified. which motion was seconded by Alderman shepherd and carried by following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Shepherd, Curlee, Fitts, lionner. Napes: None. ###################W# Moved by Alderman Curlee that Commissioner Fitts be authorized to spend for "Special Investigation" a sum not to exceed Four Hundred Dollars, ($400.00) Motion seoonded by Alderman Benner and carried. 309 f Moved by Alderman Fitts, that C. B. McConnell be permitted to install a gasoline filling station at 905 Scott Avenue under the usual provisions to-wit:- • That the said C. B. McConnell, his successors and assigns, legal representatives and administrators hold the City harmless from any damages that may arise from the installation and operation of said gasoline filling station and that the same be installed under the directions and supervision of the City Engineer and that said gasoline filling station shall be removed at once whenever such removal is requested by the Board of Alder- men of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd, and carried. ############ Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the Winfrey Auto Supply be permitted to move a gasoline filling station from 1018 Scott Avenue to 909 Lamar under the usual provisions to-wit:- That the said Winfrey Auto Supply, its successors and assigns legal representatives and administrators hold the City harmless from any dam- ages that may arise from the removal of the station from 1018 Scott Avenue and its installation and operation at 909 Lamar and that the installation shall be made according to the instructions and under the supervision of the City Engineer, and said gasoline filling station shall be removed at once when- ever such removal is requested by the Board of Alderman of the City of Wichita Falls Texas. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts, and carried. ################## Moved by Alderman Curlee that D. W. Wiley be refunded the sum of g3.08, which amount was overpaid as Taxes on Lot 21, Block 1, True- hart #1 sub-division. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried.
