Min 02/21/1922 ORDINANCE 393 "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SALE OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS: PROHIBITING THE SALE OF SUCH PRODUCTS EXCEPT AS SPECIFIED; PROVIDING FOR AN INSPECTION OF SAID PRODUCTS; METHODS OF TESTING THEREOF.. LEVYING FEES AND PRO- VIDING A PENALTY". was on motion of ALDERMAN Curlee seconded by Alderman Shepherd placed on its first reading and passed by the following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Fitts, Shepherd, Curlee. Nayes: None. ################## Moved by Alderman Curlee that Commissioner Fitts be allowed to trade one of his horses for another. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. 1######4######### The Tax Assessor then brought to the attention of the Board that the Panhandle Refining Co., had'tendered their check in payment of only part of the taxes due by them claiming that part of their eroperty was not with- in the City Limits and therefore not subject to City Taxation and Alderman Curlee moved that this check be held up for the present and that the City Attorney be instructed to request information from the Panhandle Refining Co.,as to which property is covered by said check and which property is alleged by them to be outside the city limits. Thorburn, City Clerk ################### ORDINANCE 392 "AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT OF A PORTION OF INDIANA STREET BETWEEN THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF TENTH STREET AND THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF THIRTEENTH STREET DESIGNATING TEE MATERIALS AND METHODS OF IMPROVEMENT, AND PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF BY CONTRACT AND PROVIDING FOR TEE PAY- MENT OF THE COST OF SUCH IMPROVEMENTS, LEVYING ASSESSMENTS THEREFORE, AND FIXING THE TERMS AND TIMES OF PAYMENT AND THE RATE OF INTEREST THEREON, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF ASSIGNABLE CERTIFICATES". was on motion of Alderman Curlee seconded by Alderman Bonner placed on its second reading and passed by following vote:- Yeas: Bonner, Reed, Curlee, Shepherd, Fitts. Naye s: None. ###################### 369 • ORDINANCE 394 AN ORDINANCE DEFINING COMlYiERCIALIZED AMUSEMENTS, CREATING THE POSITION OF CENSORS OF COMMERCIALIZED AMUSEMENTS AND A BOARD OF APPEALS, PRESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES; REGULATING MOVING PICTURE SHOWS AND OTHER COS+MERCIALIZED AMUSEMENTS, PRESCRIBING A PENALTY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY". Was on motion of Alderman Fitts, seconded by Alderman Bonner placed on its first reading and passed by the following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Curlee, Bonner, Shepherd, Fitts. Hayes: None. ################## Moved by Alderman Fitts that the rules requiring ordinances to be read on three separate days be suspended and an emergency declared. Hunt Wiley Robertson M. A. Bundy and Alderman Fitts moved that the nominations be approved. Which motion was seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. ################ Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Contract for paving on Eleventh Street from Indiana Street to Austin Street be awarded to L. E. Whitham ' & Co., Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried. ############## Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the contract for paving on Eleventh Street from Austin Street to Grace Street be awarded to the West Texas Construction Company. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried. ############### 370 The Mayor then advised the Board that he had been asked by one Kelley who claimed to be spokesman for the unemployed, for a permit to stage a parade and demonstration on the business streets of the City and that the ob- ject of this demonstration was to demand the resignation of the members of the Irrigation Board and pass a vote of censure on all connected with the Irrigation Project. After a little discussion Alderman Curiae moved that the following Resolution be adopted. Which motion was seconded by Alderman Fitts and passed by the following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Bo4ner, Fitts, Curlee, Shepherd Nayes: Bone.
