The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session on the above date with the following present:-

Geo W. Thorburn, City Clerk
Chief J. L. McClure submitted a report from Reid & Costley showing
that the present Fire Station at Ninth & Ohio, and the Bauch Leather Co., at
620- 7th Street were in a dangerous condition and Alderman Curlee moved that
the thanks of the Board of Aldermen be extended to Reid & Costley for this re-
port and that same be accepted and that the Mayor be authorized to appoint a
Committee to investigate the condition of these buildings.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried.

ORDINANCE 396
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A TAX ON DOGS AND FOR A PENALTY FOR
FAILURE TO PAY TAX THEREON AND PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD OF VHE COLLECTION OF
SAID TAX AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY".
was on motion of Alderman Shepherd, seconded by Alderman Fitts placed
on its first reading and passed by the following vote:-
Yeas: Curlee, Bonner, Fitts, Reed, Shepherd.
Payee: None.

Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Mayor be authorized to execute
two notes for $4,000.00 each and that the City Clerk be authorized to issue /1
warrant for $1,000.00 as the payment due by the City on the joint purchase by 'I
City and County of the old Hargreave Hospital Building.
Motion seconded by alderman Bonner and carried.

"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE WORKING OF PRISONERS CONVICTED IN THE
CORPORATION COURT".
was on motion of Alderman Fitts seconded by Alderman Bonner placed
on its second reading and passed by the following vote:-
Yeas: Reed, Curlee, Shepherd, Bonner, Fitts.
Npyes: None.

read on three separate days be suspended and that an emergency be declared.

and final reading.

"AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE WICHITA COUNTY WATER IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT NO. 1 THE RIGHT TO BUILD AND CONSTRUCT ELECTRIC POWER TRANSMISSION
LINE ALONG CERTAIN STREETS; ALLEYS AND OTHER PUBLIC BLACES WITHIN THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS".
was on motion of Alderman Bonner seconded by Alderman Shepherd
placed on its first reading and passed by the following vote:-
Yeas: Curlee, Reed, Fitts, Shepherd, Bonner.

Julian Montgomery the City Engineer then tendered the resignation
effective April let and Alderman Shepherd moved that the resignation be accept-
ed and that the thanks of the Council be extended to Mr Montgomery for services
given the City.
Motion seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried.

Moved by Alderman Shepherd that Mr Rugeley, the assistant Engineer
be appointed to fill oit the unexpired term of Mr Montgomery.
Motion seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried.

Moved by Alderman Shepherd that Henry Hund be permitted to operate
a drive in gasoline filling station at 8th and Lamar under the usual conditions
to-wit:
That the said Henry Hund, his successors and assigns, legal rep-
resentatiVes and administrators hold the City harmless from any damages that
may arise from the installation and operation of said gasoline filling station
and that the said filling station be installed under the supervision of the
City Engineer and shall be removed at once whenever such removal is requested
by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
