Min 03/20/1922 Morgan Building Wichita Fails, Texas March 20th 1922. The Board of Aldermen of the Oity of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session on the above date with the following present:- W. D. Cline, Mayor J. B. Fitts I J. F. Reed W. S. Curlee I ALDERMEN R. E. Shepherd W. N. Bonner I Geo. W. Thorburn, City Clerk. ################ Bids for paving portion of Burnett Street were then opened and referred to City Engineer for tabulation. ################# Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the Mayor be authorized to exe- cute Quit Claim Deed to G. N. McMillen to that certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Wichita and State of Texas, described as follows,to-wit: Part of Lots 19 and 20 in Block 13 of the Jalonic Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, further described as follows:- Beginning at a point on Bluff Street 65 feet North of the corner of 16th and Bluff Streets; Thence West 105 feet to the East Line of Lot No. 18 in Block No. 13; Thence North 50 feet along the dividing line of said lots 18 and 19; thence East 105 feet to Bluff Street; Thence South along Bluff Street to place of beginning, said lot being 50 by 105 feet fronting on Bluff Street. Arnett, his successors and assigns, legal representatives and administrators, do hold the City harmless from any damages that may arise from the operation of said business and that said business be closed whenever such request is made by the Board of Aldermen. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. ########4######## ORDINANCE 398 "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE 391 TERMED THE "WEIGHTS AND MEASURES "ORDINANCE". was on motion of Alderman Curlee seconded by Alderman Fitts placed on its first reading and passed by following vote;- Yeas: Reed, Bonner, Shepherd, Fitts, Curlee. Napes: None. Moved by Alderman Fitts that the rules requiring ordinances to be read on three separate days be suspended and an emergency declared. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried by following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Bonner, Shepherd, Fitts, Curlee. Nayes: None. Moved by Alderman Fitts that Ordinance 398 be passed on its second reading. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried by following vote: Yeas: Reed, Bonner, Shepherd, Fitts, Curies. Was on motion of Alderman Fitts, seconded by Alderman Shepherd placed on its second reading and passed by the following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Curlee, Bonner, Shepherd, Fitts. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried. ############## Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the City nay the Water Depart- ment 026.00 per year rental for all Fire plugs and all the water used thro' same. Motion seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. { ###########H##### ORDINANCE 399 "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND PROVIDING FOR A TEMPORARY LOAN /I FOR THE CITY OF WICHITI FALLS TEXAS NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF 060,000.00 FIXING ,I THE TERMS THEREOF, DATE OF PAYMENT AND RATE OF INTEREST AND PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY". Was on motion of Alderman Curlee seconded by Alderman Fitts placed on its first reading and passed by the following vote:- Yeas: Curlee, Fitts, Bonner, Reed, Shepherd. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried. ##############F#### The Board of Aldermen then went into executive session to dis- cuss matters that may be considered in executive session. ##########H######## The Board then went out of Executive session and Alderman Reed moved tiat the contract for paving Burnett Street from Eleventh Street to the Railroad tracks at the mill be awarded to the West Texas Construction Co., an3 the contract for the block between 10th and llth Streets be awarded to L. E. Whitham & Co., Motion seconded by Alderman Bonner and carried. ################ Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Board adjourn until 10:30 A. M. Wednesday 22nd 1922.
