H. BRITAIN, MAYOR". Was on motion of Alderman Curlee seconded by Alderman Shepherd placed on its first reading and passed by the following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Curlee, Fitts, Shepherd, Bonner. Nayes: None. Moved by Alderman Curlee that the rules requiring ordinances to be read on three separate days be suspended and an emergency declared. Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried by following vote:- Yeas: Reed, Fitts, Bonner, Curlee, Shepherd. Shepherd, be authorized to settle with the Wichita Falls Electric Co., at eight cents per thousand gallans for the surplus water used at their plant as shown by the Audit on the Water Works submitted by Ira Harris. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried. #14######### Moved by Alderman Curlee that the Finance Commissioner R. E. Shepherd purchase for the Interest & Sinking Fund Water No. 1 (as of April let 1922) 04950.00 Liberty Bonds and $500.00 Refunding No.3 Bonds from Refunding No. 1 Bonds, and that the cash balance left in Refunding No. 1 account be app- lied on the Gamewell System note now past due. Motion seconded" y Alderman Pitts and carried. 144### 74a 7 Wit Moved by Alderman Fitts that the intersection at alley on 8th Street between Bluff and Burnett be paved and that the City gravel the alley from 8th to the pavement in said alley behind the Baptist Church and that the property owners re-imburse the City for said gravelling. Motion seconded by Alderman Curlee and carried. #41#H#H#PaitH###### ORDINANCE 404 That Whereas, Frank Hell, C. H. Clark, R. 0. Harvey, P. P. Langford, N. H. Martin, W. M. Priddy, W. F. Weeks, G. C. Wood, W. S. Curlee, R. E. Shepherd, J. B. Fitts, and Wm. N. Bonner, at the special instance and request of the City of Wichita Falls, and its Board of Aldermen advanced unto the said City the sum of Thirty Thousand (030,000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of p paying the running and operating expense of said city, and Whereas, the said city is unable to meet and pay off said ob- ligation and has requested said above named parties to extend and renew the same and accept warrants bearing interest at six per cent per annum. Whereas, said parties have consented to such extension and re- newal provided that said obligation shall be paid out of the first tax money collected out of the 1922 taxes for the general fund. Now, therefore, be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, that the city's thirty warrants for the sum of 01,000.00 each dated April 1st, 1922, payable to the order of Frank Hell, C. H. Clark, R. 0. Harvey, P. P. Langford, N. H. Martin, W. M. Priddy, W. F. Weeks, G. C. Wood, W. S. Curlee, R. E. Shepherd, J. B. Fitts, and Wm. N. Bonner, be and the same is hereby ordered issued, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent, which obligations are hereby acknowledged to be just, valid and binding obligations of the said city, and it is further ordered and provided that said warrants shall be paid out of the first 1922 tax money collected for the general fund for said city. Said warrants shall bear interest at rate of six per cent per annum until paid. The mayor is hereby authorized and empowered to execute said warrants for and on behalf of said city. Passed and approved on this the 8th day of April, 1922.
