The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas
met in regular session on the above date with the following present:-
Frank Collier, Mayor
J. B. Fitts

Moved by Alderman Shepherd that whereas it is the opinion
of the Council that the building at 805- Ninth Street was damaged not quite
50A that the owners be allowed to repair same provided they put on a Fire proof
roof.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried.

Moved by Alderman Reed that the bill presented by Dr.Hughes
for services rendered S. B. tones be paid.
Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried.

The hearing of the property owners on Burnett Street paving
was then had and final decision in the matter postponed.

Moved by Alderman Fitts that the protest of plumbers against
Daddy Moore'as lumbigg Inspector be referred to Commissioner Reed, and that
Daddy Moore inspect no work done by his sons, but that these inspections be made
by City Electrical Inspector C. B. Montgomery.
Motion seconded by Alderman Clifford and carried.

The City Clerk was then instructed by the Board of Aldermen
to notify the Wichita Valley Railway Co., to put in a crossing at Broad Street
and also put in a culvert under the side track at Coyne Lumber Co.,

Moved.by Alderman Clifford that the Commissioner of Public
Utilities make a report and recommendation on getting water service to the
Bowie School house.
Motion seconded by Alderman Reed and carried.

Myles O'Reilly then addressed the Council about the proposed
change in the Meridian Highway from Ohio Avenue to Lamar Street . He was follow-
ed by J. L. Jackson and D. M. Hardy and after a general discussion Alderman Fitts
moved that action on this matter be deferred until next meeting so as to give the
Street Commissioner N. M. Clifford the opportunity to familiarize himself with the
facts in the case.
Motion seconded by Alderman Reed and carried.

Moved by Alderman Clifford that the Mayor be authorized to
appoint a committee to rent quarters for the City Council, Water Works Depart-
ment and other City departments that can not be accomodated in the City Hall.

Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the Street Commissioner be
authorized to pave the apron on the East Side of the intersection at Indiana
Avenue and Second Street.

discuss those matters that may be considered in executive session.
The Board of Aldermen then went out of executive session.

Moved by Alderman Shepherd that J. W. McCormick be appointed
Chief of Police in place of R. W. Morgan.
Motion seconded by Alderman Clifford and carried.

Moved by Alderman Stanton that an assistant be employed in
the City Attorney's office to handle the prosecutions in the Corporation Court.
Motion seconded by Alderman Clifford and carried.

Moved by Alderman Fitts that the "Hearing to property hold-
ers on Burnett Street paving be re-opened".
Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd and carried.

The Council was then addressed by several property holders
on Burnett urging that the paving be ordered in and Alderman Fitts moved that
the following Resolution be adopted:-

lowing vote:-

ELEVENTH STREET tO THE TWO HUNDRED THIRTY SIX FEET SOUTH OF SOUTH PROPERTY LINE
OF EIGHTEENTH STREET AND DETERMINING AMOUNTS OF ASSESSZMNTS AGAINST ABUTTING
LOTS,ANP PARCELS OF PROPERTY AND THE OWNERS THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE @inn OF WICHITA
FALLS; THAT ;
Whereas, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,
has heretofore ordered the following portion of Street in said City improve& by
raising, grading and filling same and installing concrete curbs, and gutter,and
paving with Warrenite-Bitulithic. Pavement on concrete foundation, to-wit: All
the unpaved portion of Burnett Street between the South property line of Eleventh
Street and two hundred thirty six feet south of South Pro,,erty line of Eighteen-
th Street.
