met in regular session on the above date with the following present:-

ORDINANCE 407
"AN ORDINANCE REGULATING METER READING BY THOSE PUBLIC
UTILITIES WHICH SELL THEIR COMMODITIES THROUGH METERS OR LTTERING DEV-
ICES; PROVIDING A MEANS FOR THE HANDLING OF CERTAIN COMPLAINTS AGAINST
SUCH UTILITIES AND PROVIDING A PENALTY".
Was on motion of Alderman Fitts, seconded by Alderman
Stayton, placed on its third and final reading and passed by the foll-
owing vote.
Yeas: Clifford, Stayton, Reed, Shepherd, Fitts.
Nayes: None.

ORDINANCE 409
"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 314 KNOWN AS THE "WEED
ORDINANCE", AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY".
Was on motion of Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman
Shepherd, placed on its first reading and passed by the following vote:-
Yeas: Shepherd, Stayton, Reed, Clifford, Fitts.
Hayes: None.
Moved by Alderman Shepherd, that the rules requiring Ord-
inances to be read on three separate days be suspended and an emergency
declared.
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and passed by the foll-
owing vote:-
Yeas: Shepherd, Reed, Stayton, Clifford, Fitts.
Hayes: None.
Moved by Alderman Shepherd, that Ordinance 409 be placed
on its second reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried by the
following vote:-
Yeas: Shepherd, Reed, Stayton, Clifford, Fitts.
Hayes: None.
Moved by Alderman Fitts that Ordinance 409 be placed on
its third and final reading and be adopted as read.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried by the
following vote:-
Yeas: Fitts, Stayton, Shepherd, Reed, Clifford.
Hayes: None.

Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the City Clerk be authorized
to issue warrants for,
United States Rubber Co., $6,193.52
Gamewell Fire Alarm System 4,425.00
Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried.

Moved by Alderman Fitts that the Contract for plumbing work
to be done at the City Hall be given to C. M. Mann, he being the lowest bid-
der.
Motion seconded by Alderman Clifford, and carried.

Moved by Alderman Fitts that the Wichita Wrecking Co., be
permitted to install a gasoline and an oil tank for storage at 408, Ohio
Avenue, under the following conditions, to-wit:-
That the said Wichita Jrecking Co., its successors and
assigns, legal representatives and administrators hold the City harmless
from any damages that may arise from the installation and operation of
said storage tanks, that same be installed according to the instructions
of the City Engineer and that same be moved at once whenever such removal
is requested by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Motion seconded by Alderman Shepherd, and carried.
