Min 06/05/1922 Morgan Building, Wichita Falls, Texas June 5th 1922. Thorburn, City Clerk. #t't#####3 411114 # Moved by Alderman Reed that the Shriners be permitted to erect a temporary arch at the dead end of Seventh Street near the Ball Park. Motion seconded by Alderman Fitts and carried. ############### ORDINANCE 411 "AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE MISSOURI KANSAS AND TEXAS RAIL- WAY COMPANY OF TEXAS AND C. E. SCHAFF, RECEIVER OF ITS RAILWAYS AND OTHER PROP- ERTY, AND THEIR SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, THE RIGHT TO RE-ARRANGE ITS TRACKS AND CONSTRUCT AN ADDITIONAL TRACK ACROSS TENTH STREET, CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS BETWEEN OHIO STREET AND THE FIRST ALLEY EAST THEREOF, AND TO PAVE OHIO STREET FROM THE CURB LINE TO THE PROPERTY LINE ON THE EAST SIDE THEREOF BETWEEN NINTH STREET AND TENTH STREET, AND NINTH AND TENTH STREETS BETWEEN THE CURB LINES AND ADJACENT PROPERTY LINES FROM OHIO STREET TO SAID ALLEY". Was on motion of Alderman Fitts, seconded by Alderman Stayton passed on its second reading with the Amendment that the building be set back ten feet from the property lines. Vote was as follows:- Yeas:- Shepherd, Reed, Clifford, Stayton, Fitts. Mayes:- Done. ################### ORDINANCE 410 AM ORDINANCE GIVING AND GRANTING TO THE WICHITA FALLS TRACTION COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS, AND LESSEES, THE RIGHT, TO EXTEND,CONSTRUCT AND OPERATE A STANDARD-GUAGE CAR LINE OR LINES ON, OVER, ACROSS AND UPON THE FOLLOW- ING DESCRIBED AND NAMED STREETS IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, TO-WIT:- (a) BEGINNING AT A POINT WHERE SIXTH STREET INTERSECTS WITH INDIANA STREET, THENCE IN A WESTERLY DIRECTION ALONG SIXTH STREET TO AUSTIN STREET THENCE IN A NORTHERLY DIRECTION ON AUSTIN STREET TO WICHITA RIVER, BRIDGING SAID WICHITA RIVER, THENCE INTERSECTING CRITTENDEN STREET, THENCE ALONG CRITTENDEN STREET TO THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH FIFTH STREET, THENCE OVER NORTH FIFTH STREET IN a WESTERLY DIRECTION TO GRAND AVENUE, THENCE IN a NORTHERLY DIRECTION OVER GRAND AVENUE TO THE SOUTH RIGHT OF WAY OF THE FORT WORTH AND DENVER RAILWAY COM- PANY. PROVIDING THAT SAID TRACKS SHALL BE LAID IN CONFORMITY WITH THE FRANCHISE HERETOFORE GRANTED TO J. A. KEMP, AND FRANK KELL ON THE 27TH DAY OF JANUARY 1910, AND ALL OF THE AMENDMENTS THERETO, AND THE PROVISIONS AND CON- DITIONS OF SAID FRANCHISE AND AMENDMENTS THERETO ARE EXPRESSLY MADE APPLICABLE TO THIS ORDINANCE, EXCEPT HOWEVER, AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS ORDINANCE. Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried. ##############401/4 430 Moved by Alderman Shepherd that Commissioner Clifford be authorized to make contract with L. E. Whitham & Co., to excavate for paving a portion of Van Buren Street provided that cost to the City be not over §200.00 and providing that the portion of van Buren to be paved be all paved and no skips left in same. Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried. 4############### ORDINANCE 412 Ala ORDINANCE TO ALEND SECTION NO.11 OF ORDINANCE No. 340, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING BOARD OF PLUMBERS DESIGNATING THE MEMBERS THEREOF, AND PRESCRIBING THEIR POWER AND DUTIES AND TERM OF OFFICE,PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF PLUNDERS, AND THE GIVING OF INDEMNITY BONDS BY PERSONS, FIRMS, OR CORPORATIONS, ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF PLUMBING IN / THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TVRAS, AND SETTING FORTH THE RULES, REGULATIONS,MANNER AND WAY IN WHICH PLUMBING WORK SHALL BE DONE: THE KIND AND CLASS OF MATERIALS TO BE USED IN SUCH WORK, TEE INSPECTION OF PLUMBING AND ALSO SCALE OF FEES FOR SUCH INSPECTIONS: DEFINING THE POWER AND DUTIES OF THE CITY ENGINEER AND INSPECTOR OF PLUMBING, AND REQUIRING PERMITS FOR CERTAIN KINDS OF PLUMBING DRAINAGE, AND COM- PELLING BUILDINGS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS TO BE CuNNECTED WITH SANITARY SEWERS, PROHIBITING THE THROWING OF WASTES, GARBAGE, ETC., INTO THE SEWER SYSTEM, AND THE INJURY OF THE SYSTEM IN ANY MANNER, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIO- LATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH SAME. RESOLUTION "Be it resolved by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, that the following named freeholders:- G•. C. Wood Jos Baber John Bland all of whom are resident citizens of the City of Wichita Palls, Texas, be and are hereby appointed members of the Board of Equalization of the City of Wich- ita Falls, Texas, for the year 19211 to equalize the property values of all the property assessed for taxes for the City purposes by the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and to perform such other duties as may be required of them by the laws of the State of Texas and the constitution and the Charter, and ordi- nances of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas. Said members of the Board of Equalization, shall take the oath that is required under Article No. 7573 of the A. S. of Texas. # #### ### #### The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
