Page 95. On above date the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,
Texas, met in regularc session for the transaction of the follow-
ing business and with the following officers present, to-wit;

M J Gardner,
J W Bradley, IV
City Atty Horace Nutt, City Clerk, V G Skeen, City Engineer,
L C Hinckley and City Marshall A d Humphris, in attendance.
Minutes of last regular meeting were read and approved.
Motion was made by M J Gardner and seconded by J W Bradley, that
the Board of Aldermen authorize the paving of the alley in Block
No 162, between 7th and 8th streets, paveing to done with concrete
under the provisions of a resolution heretofore adopted by the
Board of Aldermen. Motion carried.
City Atty Nutt reported that the case of , T Montgomery against
the City of Wichita Falls, wherein the said Montgomery had brought
suit against the City for damages on account of personal injuries
sustained by a fall from his wagon dropping into the pit of the
old wagon scales situated on Indianan Ave in front of the Mayfield
Lumber Cos yard,had been settled by a cash payment to said Mont-
gomery of w3OO.00, for which receipt had been taken, whereupon
motion was made by J A Richolt and seconded by J L Lea Jr, that
report be approved. Motion carried.
Ondinance No 227, an ordinance regulating the production,care and
sale of milk and milk products within the city limits of the City
of Vichita Falls, was put on its second reading and passed by a
Yea and Nay vote as follows,

Dr J F Reed, Yea.
J L Lea, Jr, Yea.
Mayor A H Britain then declraed Ordinance No 227 passed on its
second reading by a vote of all the Ald rmen of the City of
Wichita Falls, voting "Yea".
Mr A L Warren representing the Northwestern Compress Co came
before the Board of Aldermen with the request that the North-
western Compress Co be granted permission to excavate and lay
a water main in certain publib streets of the_City of Wichita
Falls, whereupon motion was made bynJ L Lea, Jr and seconded
by M J Gardner that the Northwestern Compress Co, be granted
permission to excavate Virginia street from Pecan street to
Oak street and Oak street to California Street and California
street to Pecan street for the purpose of 1pying a six inch
water main and the instealling of three additonal fire hydrants,
the Northwestern Compress Co to hold the City harmless from any
damages which may be caused by said excavations and the work
to be done under the supervising of the C ty Engineed.
Motion carried.
Motion was made by J F Reed ands.econded by J W Bradley, that \\
City Atty'Ntitt be instructed to institute condemnation proceed-
ings for right-of-way for sewer line across four feet of land
in Lot No 2 Block 246 of the original plat of the town of Wichita _ --�
palls, same being a strip of land four feet wide and about 126
feet long and situated in the rear of two lots facing eighth
street the property heretofore owned by J M Davis and a part of
Lot No 1 of Block No 246. Motion carried.
Motion was made by J L Lea, Jr. and seconded by J W Bradley, that
M J Gardner and J A Richolt be appointed a committee to confer
with the County Commissioners with reference to the removal of
the water tank in Lamar Ave, next the Court House yard, and the
placing of a water trough on 7th street just inside the curb next
the Court House yard between the entrance and Lamar Ave. Motion \\v`

fireman Henry Smith be granted a leave of absence from duty
from July 7th to July 17th. Motion carried.
Motion was made,-by J F Reed and seconded by J W Bradley that
City Engineed L C Hinckley be granted anleave of absence from
duty from Luly let to August 15th. Motion carried.
Motion was made by J A Richolt and seconed by J F Reed, that
City Engineer be instructed to have two light poles removed
from thr alley between 7th and 8th streets in block No 162.
Motion carried.
There being no further btsiness the Board of Aldermen adjourned. C
