Min 11/09/1916 • Page 125. Wichita Falls, Texas, Nov 9th 1916. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met on above date in regular session for the transaction of the business of the City, with Mayor A H Britain presiding and the following Aldermen present, to-wit; J W Bradley, J A Richolt, J F Reed, M J Gardner and J L Lea, Jr. City Atty Nutt, City Clerk :Skeen, City Engineer Hinckley and City, Marshall Humphris in attendance. Minutes of rrevious meetings were read and approved. Mr John Taylor, of the firm of Taylor Bros, Contractors, came before (IIp the Board to ask permission to occupy parts of 8th street and the =.I .alley where they are treating a building for Robertson & 7tringer, for the purpose of storing building material, and that they be t;,; granted Permission to erect a temporary sanitary closet in said alley, whereupon; Motion was made by J Bradley and seconded by J I Reed, that Taylor Br,.s, be _anted permissioa to use cne t ird of 8th street at No 713 and one tnidr of the alley adjourning for the :.ur.ose' of storing „! building material during the erection of said building and that they be granted permission toinstall a temporary sanitary closet in s.1d f alley, with the understanding that they are to save the City harmless from ana da,&ages which may be caused by the use of said atteet and alley. Motion carried. Motion was made by J ;; Bradley and seconded by J L Lea, Jr, that B Reeves, Jr., be granted permission to install a Gasoline Filling Station at No 902, Indiana Ave. under the orovission that he is to kea, save the City harmless from any damages which gay be caused by the placing of said gasoline filling station between side*alk and 6urb at ta/1. said .incat.ibn_ and to do the work under the supervision of the City /Jf�y Engineer. Motion carried. Motion was made by M J Gardner and seconded by J A Richolt, that , Shuler & Wallace be granted permission to install a Gasoline Filling rA Station between the curb and sidewalk at 704 Scott ave. under the up : provision that they are to save the city harmless from any damages which may be caused by the placing of said filling Station between ‘ ,,, - the sidewalk and curb at said location, and that they have the work done under the supervision of the City Engineer. Motion carried. Motion was made by Dr need and seconded by M J Gardner that the election officers be paid for holding &n election for the issuance of Cemetery Improvement Bonds on Nov 7th as follows; F H Denison $3.00. G R Walker, 02.00. G W Eagle, $2.00. J H Johnson, $2.00. • I D Browder, w2100. for Court House Box, and J B Fitts, $3.00. Smiley Turner 02.00. J M Arrington $2.00 and J J Manley, $"2.00 for holding election at City Hall Box. Motion carried. Motion was made by J L Lea, Jr and seconded by J A Richolt, that the following parties be paid for services rendered as extra police on Oct 30th. Hubert Glaescook, $2.00. Smiley Turner, $2.00 and J M Arrington $2.00. Motion carried. ORDINANCE No 230. hn0rdinace granting the:_L'ichita Fella and Notthwestern Railway 'Co, of Texas, its successors and assigns and lessees, the right to construct ten (10) standard guage railway tracks in, alongand aide.across :entucky Avenue between blocks three Pour(3 & 4 ) of the Barwise and Jalonic Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, was put on its third and last reading and on motion made by J W Bradley and seconded by Dr Reed, was passed by the following Yea and Nay vote, to-wit; J W Bradley, Yea. J A Richolt, Yea. J F Reed, Yea. M J Gardner, Yea, and J L Lea, Jr, Yea. Mayor Britain then declared Ordinance No 230, and Ordinance granting _ the_ Wichita Falls, and Notthwestern Railway Co, of Texas, its suc- cessors, assigns and lessees the right to construct ten (10) standard guage railway tracks across Kentucky Ave between Blocks three and four of the Barwise and Jalonic addition to the City of Wichita Falls, passed on its third and last reading by a vote of the all Aldermen of the city present voting "Yea". In the consideration of an Ordi,anoe granting the Panhandle Refining Co, the right to construct pipe lines over and along certain streets allays and public grounds of the City of Wichita aal1s, for the donveyance of fuel oil, Mayor Britain vacated the chairrDr Reed Mayor Pro-tem took charge of the meeting, whereupon; ORDINANCE No 23. An Ordinance granting the Panhandle Refining Co, a corporation, whose principal office is in the City of T",ichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, a franchise for the construction of pipe lines for the conveyance of fuel oil along and over certain streets and alleys and public grounds in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, was on mot • made by M J Gardner and seconded by J A Richolt, put on I its •econ.. readingand passed by the following Yea and Nay, vote. _. i Page 126. Mayor Pro-tern, Reed, then declared Ordinance No 233, an Ordinance granting the Panhandle Refining Co, whose principal office is in the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, a franchise for the construction of pipe lines for the conveyance of fuel oil along and over certain streets and alleys and public grounds of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed on its second reading by a vote of all the aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls , present and voting "Yea". Motion was made by J W Bardley and seconded by M J Gardner, that warrai be drawnt for th�Ob,�alance due E. L Walsh, in payment for the house ,, erected at the : t4—t park, when the work is finally completed and account OKd by Dr Reed. Motion carried. Motion was made by J L Lea, Jr and seconded by J A. Rieholt, that the City Marshall be authorized to buy the necessary blankets for the jail. Motion carried. There being no further busiess the Board of Aldermen adjourned.
