Min 11/23/1916 • Page 130 Wichita Falls, Texas, Nov 23rd 1916. The Board of Aldermen of the City'of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session on above date with Mayor A H Britain, presiding, and with the following aldermen present, viz; , Dr J F Reed, J A Richolt, B J Gardner, J R' Bradley and J L Lea, Jr. City ratty Nutt, City Clerk Skeen, City Engineer Hinckley, City Marshall Humphris and Assessor and Collector Rohertson in attendance. Minutes last meetings were read and approved. Dr Reed made a motion which was seconded by J N Bradley and carried, that Tax Collector Robertson be authorized to cancel Tax charges-- by reason of error--against Lots 6 & 7 Bloc]. 131, original townsite, for tie year 1903, as rendered by B Michael. Dr Reed, Chairman of the Park Board, reported that the Board had employed Mr C T. Hughes as Landscape Architect, to prepare and submit plans, specification and details for the improvement of Riverside Cemetery and vacant grounds owned by the City adjacent thereto, said plans, specifiaations and details to be subject to the approval of the Dark Board and the Board of Aldermen, consid- eration for said services to be $750.00; whereupon, motion was made by J W Bradley and seconded by M J Gardner, that report be accepted and approved, and that Dr Heed and Mayor Britain be authorized to enter into a contract with Mr Hughes for said work. Motion carried. Motion was made by Dr Reed and seconded by J L Lea, Jr., that E B Goraline be creited with t6.00 on abcotnt of vacanoies and the the Tax Collector be authorized to accept $15.00 cask in full settlement of all charges for sewer rentals to Dec 31st 1916. Motion carried. l ORDINANCE No 234. There being a necessity that an Ordinance adopting form of bond, fixing the place of payment and authorizing the execution and issuance of Fiftean Thousand Dollars bonds of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, far the purpose of acquiring Pjablio Cemeteries, authorized by an election held November 'Vth, 1916, and making provision for a tax for the payment of the principal and interest thereof; and all the Aldermen being present, J W Bradley moved that the rule requiring that ordinances be read and passed at ' three seperate regular meetings of the Board of aldermen, the last of which to take place not leas than ten days from the first, be suspended, and the ordinance adopting the form of bond,fixing , the plane of payment and authorizing the execution and issuance of Fifteen Thousand Dollars bonds of the City of Vichita Falls. Texas, for the purpose of acquiring Public Cemeteries, be adopted, which was seconded by M J Gardner, and upon a "Yea" and "Nay" vote the rule was suspended and the Ordinance was adopted by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, as follows; J W Bradley, Yea. J A Richolt, Yea. J F Reed, Yea. M J Gardner, Yea. J L Lea, Jr,. Yea. Mayor Britain then declared the rule suspended and tke ordinance adopting form of bond, fixing the place of payment and authorizing the execution and issuance of Fifteen Thousand Dollars bonds of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, for the purpose of acquiring o Public Cemeteries, duly adaopted as Ordinance No 234, by unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the Citz present and votiong "Yea". Motion was made by J F Reed and seconded by M J Gardner, that the t15.000.00 Cemetery Bonds be advertised for sale and that bids be reoeived and opened at a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen to be held on the 11th day of January 1917. Motion was mdde by J A Richolt and seconded by J L Lea, Jr, that an account again st_tha_City..of46B:4g for a car of Stone Dust due the Prtland Cement Co of Dallas, be allowed and ordered paid. Motion carried. Motion was made by J A Richolt and seconded by J L Lea, Jr., that the City Atty be requested to file 'prosecutions against anyone digging into the pavement, streets and alley of the city without first having abtained a permit from the City Engineer so to do.
