Min 02/15/1917 Page 145.1 Wichita Falls, Texas, Feby 15th 1917. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, Met on above date for the transaction of the regular business of the city, with Mayor A H Britain preeldi4tg and with the following Aldermen present, to-wit; M J Gaadner, J A Richolt, J F Reed, J W Bradley and J L Lea, Jr. City Marshal Humphris, City Clerk Skeen, City Engineer Hinckley and City Atty Nutt in attendance. Minutes of last regular meeting were read and approved. J A Rioholt moved that the bills against the city as 0 Kd by the Finance Committee, be allowed and ordered paid, which was seconded by M J Gardner and carried. Motion was made by M J Gardner that the Mayor and Dr Reed be author- ? ' ized to employ such men as they deem necessary to gather and destroy bb����"""���"��" the bag worm cocoons infesting the trees of the city, which motion war' seconded by J A Rioholt and carried. Messers A M Hughes and J E Ward, representing the Pierce; Fordyce Oil Assn. came before the Board of Aldermen with the request that 9 permission be granted them to install oil tanks in the ground between the walk and curb at the corner of Tenth St and Scott Ave., whereupon J A Rioholt moved that permission be granted the Pierce- Fordyce Oil Assn., to install oil tanks in the ground at above named location under the usual conditions, to-wit; that -the Pierce- ,/ Fordyce Oil Assn.,agrees to sate the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, harmless from any damages which may be causedhe placing of said oil tanks at said location, to have the wotk done under the super- vision of the City engineer and that they and their assigns agree to remove same at the request and on demand of the Board of Alder- men, which motion was.seconded by J 7 7radley and carried. City Engineer Hinckley reported that a part of the court surroun- ing the ;'ost Office was lower than the alley adjourning, and for this reason water would not drain therefrom; whereupon Dr Reed moved that the Post Office Department be granted permission to connect said court by a line of pipe with the sanitary sewer line, the work to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer, which motion was seconded by M J Gardner and carried. J A Rioholt reported that he had been in correspondence with the makers of the Street Sweeper concerning such repairs as were neo- essarg to put the sweeper in first class condition and that they had agreed to bear one half of the cost of such parts as were {, needed; and advised the buying of same.Mr:;Bradley.then-.-moved that ,Jtr' Mr Richolt he authorized to order the repairs needed which motion was seconded by Dr Reed and carried. Motion was made by M J Gardner and seconded by J W Bradley, that Mr Richolt and Mr Dobson be authorized to buy an automobile for Street Supt Dobson, Motion carried. Motion was made by J W Bradley that C W Hughes be paid $750.00 his charges for making plans and specifications for Cemetery Improvements, which was seconded by M J Gardner and carried.
