The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met
on above date in regular session for the transaction of the
business of the City, with Mayor A H Britain presiding and with
the following Aldermen present, to-wit;
J A Rioholt, J F Reed, J L Lea, Jr and J W Bradley.
Alderman, M J Gardner, being absent.
City Atty Nutt, City Engineer Hinkle, City Marshall Humphris,
City Treasurer Walkup, City Assessor and Collector Robertson
and City Clerk Skeen, in attendance.
Minutes of last regular meeting were read and approved.
A committee of citizens from the Chamber of commerce came before
the Board of aldermen to discus with them the propositton of
1 providing more and better street lights in the business section
of the city. Mr Johnson, Seety of the Chamber of Commerce,

, explained in detail that the plans as orouosed by the nronerty
owners in the district to be specially lighted, was to install
a system of seventy two Luminus Aro Lights on Ohio and Indiana
Avenues from 7th to 9th streets and on 7th and 8th streets from
Denver tracks west, said lights, posts and equipment to become
the property of the city when installed, provided the city
would pay fax the cost of maintaining said lights and equipment.
0 After full discussion of the matter J W Bradley moved that the
city agree to pay maintainance cost of seventy two Luminus Ara
t ,. Lights to be installed in the business district of the city
? /! at a cost of $3.35 each,per month, when in use from dusk to
ot.'„_AIII 11 O'clock P M and $3.40 per month each when in use from dusk
to 12 o'clock, which motion} vas seconded by J A Rioholt and
carried.
After hearing a protest from citizens living in the southeast-
ern part of the city,against the sale of tertian vacant lots
to'negros'and:theAmprovement of same by the purchasers and on
which matter the Board took no action the accounts of various
officers were checked and 0 Bd as,follows.

Motion was made by Dr Reed and seconded by J L Lea, Jr, that
Collector Robertson be paid $29,38. 5p commission on 581.75
sewer Rent collected. Motion carried.
Motion was made by J A Riehllt and seconded by Br Reed that H E
Bachman be refunded $4.00 on account of vacancies as per list
submited with claim. ""otion carried.
There being no further business the Board of Aldermen adjourned.
