Wichita Falls, Texas, March 15th 1917.
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita 'alls, Texas, met in
regular session onaabove date for the transaction of the business
of the city with Mayor AaH Britain presiding and with the follow-
Aldermen present, to-wit;
J L Lea, Jr, J F Reed and J A Richolt.
Aldermen M J Gardner and J W Bradley, absent.
City Marshal Humphris, City Atty Nutt, gity Engineer Hinckley and
City Clerk Skeen, in attendance.
Minutes of last regular meeting were read and approved.
Aldermen Richolt moved that the city order 'paving laid on
llth street from Broad street to Tyler street, which motion was
seconded by J L Lea, Jr., and carried.
Alderman yea moved that the oily orderer paving laid on
Monroe street from 10th to Ave "C", which motion was seconded by
Alderman Richolt and carried.
The following resolution was read and on motion made by Dr Reed
and seconded by J A Richolt, was adopted.

COUNTY OF WICHITA.
VHEREAS, heretofore on the 14th day of February A D
1910, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
granted the Wichita Falls„& Southern.Railway do, an 7iahita
Falls & Northwestern'.Railtay Co, of Texas,their assigns, lessees
and successors a franchise right and permission to enter upon the
alley in Block No 181 of said City and there lay and construct
a single track standard guage railroad along said alley; and
WHEREAS, as part of the consideration for the grant
of said franchise right the said Railway Companies agreed and
obligated themselves to, upon order of the City Council of the
said City, pave said alley; and
WHEREAS, since the grant of said franehiseright and
the acceptance thereof by the said Railway Companiesthe said
City of Wichita Falls, Texas, has made phenominal progress and
advancement, and whereas, it is necessary and proper that said
alley be paved, now therefore;
Be it resolved by the Board of Aldermen of the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas,
1. That the Wichita Falls, & Southern Railway Co,
and the Wichita Falls & Nothwestern Railway Co of Texas, their
assigns, lessees and successors, be and they are hereby requested
and orderer to pave the alley between Ninth and Tenth streets in
Block No 181 of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas,
2. Tha said Railway Companies, their assigns, lessees
and successors, be requested and ordered to pave said alley,
with that clase of pay.;mexxt known and desoribed asconcrete
pavement, and that such pavement be of the class, class quality
and kind which has bean constructed in other paved alleys in the
said City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
3. That said Railway Companies, their assigns and
lessees and successors, be each furnished a copy of this reso-
lution, and that a copy of same be recorded in the Minutes of
the proceedings and the said Boad of Aldermen.
Motion was made by J A Richolt, that the bills against the
City as OKd by the Finance Committee, be allowed and ordered
paid, which motion was seconded by Aldermen Lea, and carried.
Motion was made by Aldermen Richolt that the Wichita Falls
Traction Co, be requested to repast the street paving between
the rails and both sides of the track on 10th street from the
east side of Indiana Ave. to the west of Scott Ave. where said
paving ids in bad condition, which motion was seconded by
Alderman Lea, and carried.
Applicatiod by J L Mears that he be granted permission to install
a Gasoline Filling Stations at 61d Scott Ave and at 406 Indiana
Ave. was read, whereupon Dr'Reed moved that J L Mears, be granted
permission to install Gasoline Filling Stations at above named
locations undsr,sthe usual provisions, that he is to save the
city harmless from any damages which may be caused by the placing
of: Filling Stations at above named locations, to have the work
done under the supervision of the City Engineer and that he and
bier assigns agree to remove said filling Stations at the request
and upon demand of the Board of Aldermen, which motion was seconded
by J L Lea, Jr and carried.
