Wichita Falls, Texas, March 29th 1917.
The Board of Aldermen of the Ciky of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in
regular session on above date for the transaction of the business
of the-City with Mayor A H Britain presiding and with the follow-
ing Aldermen present, to-wit;
J F Reed, J A Richolt, J L Lea, Jr., and M J Gardner,
J W Bradley, absent.
City Engineer Hinckley and City Clerk Skeen in attendance.
Minutes of last regular meeting were read and approved.
Mr E C Harris, of Harris Bros, came before the Board of Aldermen
asking permission to install a Gasoline Filling Station at 614
8th Street, by placing a Gasolinb Tank tn'the sidewalk in front
of their place of business; whereupon J A Rioholt moved that
Harris Bros. be granted permission to install a Gasoline Filling
Station at 614 9th street under the usual provisions, to-wit.
that they agr to gate the city harmless from any damages which
may be caused by the placing of said filling station at above
mentioned location, to hare the work done under the supervision
of the City Engineer and that_theyP.and their successors will
remove the same upon demand of the Board of Aldermen, which
motion was seconded by J L Lea, Jr and carried.
Mr J L Lea, ir., reported that he had made request of Mr Lawton,
manager of the Wichita Falls Water Co to reset the t'iterPlugs
1 at the various corners of the streets of the City where they are
too far back from the curb as per action of the Board of Mob 22nd.
The appointment of a successor to Sanitary Officer J A Brown,
who died March 26th,.came up for consideration and on motion
made by Dr Reed Mr R W Morgan was given the appointed at a
salary of $80.00 per month bigining with April let, which motion
was seconded by J A Richolt and carried.
There being no further business the Board of Aldermen adjourned.
