The Board of Aldermen of the City of s,ichlta Falls, Texas, met
in regular session on above date for the transaction of the
business of the City, with Mayor A H Britain presiding and with
the following Aldermen present, to-wit;
J a Lea, Jr, L: J Gardner, J Aicholt, Marvin Smith and E G hill.
City Engineer Hinokley, City Marshal Humphris and City Clerk Skeen
in attendance.

Mr J I Pond came before the Board of Aldermen to ask permission
w,5Pirvi to use a part of 6th street at corner of 6th st and Ohio Ave,
during the ctearing of the site and erection. of a building at
(1 said location, ithereupon J A Richolt moved that J V Pond, be
granted the use of five feet outside the curb line on 6th et,
from_Ohio At to.thee811ey, for the storing of building material
during the construction of a building at said location, under
, 4 the usual proi+ihions, that he is to save the city harmless from
any damages which may, be caused by the use of said street, which
motion was seconded by J L Lea, Jr, and carried.

Mr Wylie Wyatt llama before the Board of Aldermen to ask permission
to use a part of 7th street in front of the Westland Hotel during
the construction of additions,to said building, whereupon, J A
Riaholt moved that 7ylie oyatt be granted the use of fifteen feet
of 7th street in front of the ..estland Hotel, the White Front
building, the alley adjoining and for twenty feet along the side
of the Schlitz Bar, for the storage of building material during
the time requited to make the improvements contmplated, which
right was granted under the provision that he is to save the
city harmless from any damages which may be caused by the use
of said street as aforesaid, which motion was seconded by
Marvin Smith and carried.

The question of more and better toilet accomodatione about the
City Hall, came before the Board of Aldermen, and after a die-
bussion of the matter, E G Hill moved that the Mayor, Aldermen
Richolt and Gardner be appointed a committee to investigate the
cost and boat>on of additional otosets, and to report back to
the Board dor final action, which nation was seconded by J L
Lea, Jr, and carried.

A request from Mr R E Huff, that he be granted permission to
repair a stable on Lot 9 Block 151 damaged by fire recently,
was presented to the Board of Aldermen, with the result that
Marvin Smith moved that B committee composed of Messers C C
Willard, John Taylor and H J Naylor be appointed a Board of
Appraisers to ascertain the damage ensued to the stable in
question, and that the 3ity Clerk be directed to notify Mr
Huff of the action of the Board of Aldermen and to advise him
of that part of the Fire Ordinance relating to the repair of
buildings in the fire limits, damaged by fire or otherwise,
which motion was seconded by E G Hill and carried.

The unsafe and dangerous condition of the R O'C Lynch ware-
house situated on the Fort orth & Denver City Ry tracks, between
6th and 7th streets, was brought to the notice of the Board of
Aldermen, whereupon E G Hill moved that a Committee composed of
Messers C C Willard, John Taylor and H J Naylor be appointed a
Board of Appraisers to pass on the condition of the said ware-
house, and that the City Clerk be directed to advise Mr S D Lynch,
agent of R O'C Lynch, of the action of the Board of Aldermen and
to call his attention to that nart or parts of the Fire Ordinance
relating to buildings of this caracter, which motion was seconded
Marvin Smith and carried.

Motion was made by E G Hill that the City's part of the balance

E G Hill moved that the Civic League Ladies be granted the use
of a wagon and team and two men for 15 days for the purpose of
cleaning the alleys of the 8ity, which motion was seconded by
Marvin Smith and carried.

Marvin Smith moved that the Sanitary Committee and Mr Gardner,
be authorized to buy a team and wagon far service in collecting
trash and garbage in the residence part of the City, which motion
was seconded by J L Lea, Jr, and carried.

Motion was made by Marvin Smith that the Sanitary Committee
be authorized to buy a soavinger wagon to replace to one now in
use, provided it can be had at:the price allowed in the budget,
which motion was seconded by M J Gardner, and carried.

M J Gardner moved that H F Robertson, be allowed $"10.70 amount
due at 5% commission on $214.00 sewer rent collected, which was
seconded by J A Richolt, and carried.
There being no further business the Board of Aldermen adjourned.

The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met
in called session on above date, with Mayor A H Britain, presiding
and with the following Aldermen present, to-wit;
M J Gardner, E G Hill, J A Richolt and Marvin Smith. J L Lea, Jr,.
being absent. City Atty Nutt and City Clerk Skeen in attendance.

Mayor Britain _stated,- the purpose of the meeting to be to consid-
er the advisability and to ask authority to invest the money belong-
ing to the City's Interest and Sinking-Fund, not needed to pay this
/ years interest on City Bonds, in U S Liberty Loan Bonds, and in
/ explaining the proposition he said there was about $25000.00 in
40-4114 the Interest and Sinking Fund and that about one half of this years
interest had been paid, leaving a balance available of about
f_ $18550.00. After full discussion of the proposition, in which it
Vag was shown that the City was now receivin only 3% interest and
that the Liberty Loan Bonds would draw 3 interest, Marvin Smith
moved that Mayor A H Britain be authorized to invest that part of
the Interest and Sinking Fund, belonging to the City of Wichita
Falls, not needed to pay interest on City Bonds coming due this
year, in United states Liberty Loah Bonds, which motion was sec-
onded by E G Hill, and carried. 1

r.ld man H111 made request that hh be granted a leave of absence
from the City, explaining that he had arranged to make a trip to
the coast country, whereupon, M J Gardner moved that Zr Hill, be
granted a leave of absence from the City for a period of thirty
days, which motion was seconded by J A Richolt, and carried.
