The Board of Aldermen of the City of ,iliohita Falls, Texas, Met
in regular session on above date for the transaction of the
business of the City with Mayor A H Britain presiding and with
the following Ald rmen present, to-wit;
J A Aicholt, J Gardner, E G Hill, Marvin Smith and J L Lea, Jr.
City estty Nutt, City Clerk Skeen and Fite Chief McClure in
attendance.

Minutes of last regular meeting were read and approved.

''otion was made by 2 G Hill that the Sewer line be extended
to the Thmprbaedients of the wichita Mill & Elevator Co in Block
No 10 of the Jalonic Addition, which motion was seconded by
M J Gardner and carried.

J L Lea, Jr moved that an incandescent light be installed at
the corner of 9th and Buchanan streets, which motion ras
seconded by J A Richolt and carried.

Motion was mad by H J Gardner that an Arc light be installed
at the corner of llth and =Break streets, which motion was
seconded by Marvin Smith and carried.

The matter of appointing a successor on the Board of Health
to Dr (x, B Lee, who no longer resides in the city was taken up
for consideration whereupon, E G Hill moved that Dr M M vialker
be appointed to fill the vacancy, which motion was seconded by
J L Lea, Jr, and carried.

M J Gardner moved that a fire plug be installed at the corner
of llth and Baylor streets, which motion was seconded by J A
Richolt and carried.

Mayor Britain, as a member of the Library Committee, reported
that an e:fort wad being made to raise by donation a sum of
' money sufficient to furnish the Library Building, accompanying
his report with the statement that Mr Kemp, the donor of the
^ " Building had not agreed to furnish the building, and that in f
view of the fact that an appropritaion had been made in this
years budget to take care of certain expenses inoident to the
maintainance of the building, which the city would not be called
upon to expend, beaause of the further fact that the building
will not be completed before Jany 1st 1918, that he, as a member
of the Board of Aldermen, recommended an appropriation of $$2500.00
of the city's funds to be applied towards the furnishing of the
Public Library Building; whereupon J A Richolt moved that the
Mayon recommendations be approved and that the Board of Aldermen
authorize-an appropriation of Twenty Five Hundred Dollars ($2500.00)
out of the General Funds of the City to be used for the furnishing
of the Public Library Bulding, which motion was seconded by M J
Gradner and carried.

The question of employing a Librarian for_,the public Library
was brought up for consederation, whereupon Mayor Britain of the
Library Committee reported that the Library Committee had
considered several applications and of the number Mis Mary C
Roberts had been chosen. E G Hill then moved that Mis Mary C
Roberts be employed as Public Librarian at a salary of $100.00
per_nonth,,to begin work when called upon by,the Library Committee,
and with the further understanding that she be given a vacation
of one month out of each year, which motion was seconded by
Marvin Smith and carried.

H J Gar ner recommened the removal of Geo Gilham from the Police
force, whereupon J A Richolt moved that the recommendation be
approved, which motion was seconded by J L Lea, Jr and carried.

Page 256. A committee on the revision of the City Charter was proposed as
follows; J = Montgomery, 2e Huff, l , Noble, JA Kemp, n JP
Reed,
Hill moved that the above committee be appointed to revise the
City Chrater, which motion was sec onded by M J Ga G,er and carried.

There being no further business the Board of Aldermen adjourned.
