Wicnita Falls, Texas, December 20th, 1917.
Tne Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met
in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the
business of the City, with Mayor A. H. Britain presiding, and with
the following officers present, towit:
Alderman M. J. Gardner.
Alderman J. A. Richolt.
Alderman J. L. Lea, Jr.
Alderman Marvin Smith.
Alderman E. G. Hill.
City Attorney Nutt.
City Marsnal Humphris.
City Recorder Whitelaw.
City Clerk, V. G. Skeen, was aosent on account
of illness.

un account of the aosence of the City Clerk, Skeen, by reason
of sickness, the minutes of the preceding meeting, on towit: December
13th, 1917, had not been written up and were deferred for approval
until a s-tosequent meeting.

Alderman Richolt moved that when the city's bills were o.k'd.
by the Finance Committee that they be allowed and paid, which said
motion was seconded by Alderman Gardner, and carried.

Recorder Whitelaw appeared before the Board of Aldermen and
reported that some days ago a man named Htilhderson was fined in his
court the sum of Twenty-five Dollars, which fine had been paid, and
ijtiJ` that he nad Tined said man under the impression that ne was trying to
v-i_ roc an old drunken man, out that he had since found that he was a
^��..btvo boomer brakeman with a wife and four children living at Gainesville,

and that the drunken man whom he thought the convicted man was try-
, , ing to rob, was fined Fifty Dollars about two days later for using
+ abusive language to Mrs.' H. G. Roob, and that he, the Recorder, had
since round that he had done the convicted man an injustice and nad
fined nim about Twenty Dollars too much, whereupon Alderman Gardner
` ,y,, moved that Twenty Dollars of the find be remitted and refunded, and
sent to the wife of the convicted man at Gainearrisville, Texas, which
�es' - said motion was seconded oy Alderman Lea, and ced.
