Min 01/03/1918 Wichita Falls, Texas, January jrd 1918. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City. with Mayor A. H. Britain presiding, and with the follow- ing officers present, to wit: Alderman M. J. Gardner, Alderman Marvin Smith, Alderman J. L. Lea, Jr., City Attorney Nutt, City Clerk, Walkup, City Marshal Humphris, City Engineer, Cooke, City Deputy, Assessor & Collector Anderson, in attendance. Reading of un-approved Minutes was defered to next regular session. Alderman M. Smith moved that Filmore Street be paved with con- , aa crete from the North side of Tenth Street to the North side of y Ninth Street, and that Ninth Street be paved from the West side of Filmore Street to the East side of Pierce Street, which motion Nry✓ was seconded by Alderman J. L. Lea, Jr. and carried. ;li' - Alderman Gardner moved that the account of J. A. Kavanagh for $11.45 be paid which motion was seconded by Alderman J. L. Lea Jr, and carried. ---0--- Alderman J. L. Lea, Jr., moved that the account of H. F. Robert- son for $38.92 commission on Sewer Collections for December 1917, be paid, which motion was seconded by Alderman M. J. Gardner, and carried. ---o--- ORDINANCE NO. 24 . An Ordinance granting the Wichita Valley Railway Company a fran- chise and right to construct a single line siding or switch from its tracks on its right of way in this City. Beginning on the right of way of said Wichita Valley Railway Company where the alley runs through Block No. One of the I. Jalonick Addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, strikes said right of way; Thence along said alley in a Northerly direction to Sixteenth Street; Thence across Sixteenth Street to alley running through Block No. 225, of the or- iginal town of Wichita Falls; Thence along said alley through Block No. 225 a distance of 140 feet, and no farther. Was on motion made by Alderman Gardner and seconded by Alderman Smith, put on its first reading and passed by the following Yea and Nay vote. Alderman Gardner Yea. Alderman Lea Yea.
