Min 02/07/1918 uichita Falls Texas, r'ebruary 7th, 1918. Tne Boars of Aldermen os the city of Wichita r"alls, Texas,- met on the above date for the transaction of the business of the city, with Mayor A.H.Brittain presiding and the following officers present: Alderman M.J.Gardner J.A.Richolt J.L.Lea Jr. E.G.Hill City Attorney Nutt City Clerk Walkup City Marshall Humphries City Engineer Cooke Fire Chief MoClure in attendance. 1 - 0 0 0 The minutes of the meeting of 7 were read and approved. City Engineer Cooke informed the Board that he had employed an Assistant at $85.00 per month and two helpers at two dollars per da day to assist in making re-survey of the city; whereoupon Alderman Hill moved that the action of Engineer Cooke be ratified, which motion was seconded by Alderman Gardner and carried. la - 0 0 o - Ordinance No. 246 An ordinance granting the Wichita Valley Railway Company a franchise and right to construct a single line siding or switch from its tracks on its right of way in this city. Beginning on the right of way of said Wichita Valley Railway company where the alley runs thru Block No.1 of the I. Jaloniek Addition to the city of richita Falls Texas, strikes said right of way; thence along said alley in a Northerly direction ` ,to sixteenth Street; thence across Sixteenth Street to alley running thru Block No. 225of the original town of Wichita Falls; thence along said alley thru Block No. 225 - a distance of 140 feet and no farther, was on motion made by alderman Lea and seconded by alderman Hill put on its third reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote: Alderman Gardner - yea Alderman Hill - yea " Richolt - yea Lea - yea Mayor Brittain then declared Ordinance No. 246 passed on its third and final reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the city present voting yea. - 0 0 0 - Ordinance No. 247 An ordinance prohibiting the giving or delivering, or causing to be delivered or given, or being in any way concerned in the giving or delivering of any spirituous, vinous, malt or other intoxicating liquors to any soldier in the service of the United States of America, defination , penalties, etc., was on motion made by Alderman Lea and seconded by Alderman Gardner put on its third reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote: • Alderman Richolt - yea Alderman Hill - yea Gardner - yea " Lea - yea Mayor Brittain then declared Ordinance No. 247 passed on its third and final reading bf the unanimous of all the Aldermen of the city x present voting yea. - 0 0 0 - Alderman Hill moved that the account of H.F.Robertson for $252.04 , commissions on sewer collections for January be paid, which motion was seconded by Alderman, ie4 and carried. - 0 0 o - Alderman Gardner moved that J.W.Walkup be paid $35.00 for making Treasurers report for January, which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. - 0 0 0 - Alderman Richolt moved that Mayor Brittain be authorized to close trade with George Dobson for property adjoining city pound, which motion was seconded by Alderman Gardner and carried. �� .
