Jno. Taylor, representing Taylor Bros., Contractors, and
itoy Jones, came before the Moard requesting permission to , '
place areaway in Alley between Ohio and Indiana Avenues at
rear of building being erected by Roy Jones on the corner
of Sixth Street and Ohio :.venue. t.nereupon Alderman :feed
moved that the realest be granted under the usual provisionsVi
to wit:- That the work be done under the supervision of the ,1
of the City Engineer, and that the said itoy Jones hold the 4y'
City harmless from all damages that might be caused by the
installation and maintenance of said area way eL proviefl

Alderman Lee moved that lax Collector Robertson be permitted
to settle back tax account with N.Henderson for .'35.00
which motion was seconded by Alderman "alker and carried.

Alderman "alker moved that the Cameron Lumber Company be
refunded 2.85 Sewer rent which motion was seconded by
Alderman McFall and carried.

Alderman .alker moved that Lr. n.1,Vaughn be permitted to
place a desk in the Police Station and that Desk Sergeant
Chambers be permitted to act as °ecretary to Mr. Vaughn
when not otherwise engaged; which motion was seconded by
Alderman McFall and carried,

Prof. Lee Clark came before the 'hoard and asked the City if
if it would be possible for the City to level the grounds at
the Travis school building; whereupon Alderman need moved that
the matter be refered to Alderman McFall with power to act.
Which motion was seconded by Alderman -yea and carried.

Alderman McFall moved that Naylor and Hammock be permitted to use
ten feet of the Street in front of 806 Scobt Avenue for the purpose
of storing material for building being erected at that place,
which motion was seconded by Alderman Walker and carried.

Alderman "alker moved that Alderman McFall be permitted to pay
02.50 per day for work on the Street when necessary, which motion
was seconded by Alderman yea and carried.

Alderman Reed moved that the Ft.liorth and Denver City Hallway
Company be requested tol4lee gates at the crossings on Seventh
Street and to properly light said Street Crossing , which
motion was seconded by Alderman Walker and carried.

i M.M.Cooke,' ity.,Engineer, presented his resignation as City
4-41c '• Engineer, to take effect May let, 1918. whereupon Alderman
deed moved that Mr. Cooke's resignation be accepted, which
motion was seconded by Alderman Lea. The motion being put
resulted in the following yea and nay vote:
Alderman ±teed, yea; Alderman Lea , pas; Alderman McFall,
nay; Alderman "alker,nay. The vote being a tie, Mayor
Marlow voted yea, and declared the resignation accepted.

J.L.Robertson, doing business under the name the Moon Auto Co.
presented a request for permission to enstall a Gasoline
filling Station at 707 Scobt Avenue; whereupon Alderman McFall
moved that the request be granted under the usual provisions
to wit:- that the installation be done under the supervision*
of the City Engineer and that the said Moon Auto Co., and
J.L.$obertson hold the City harmless from all damages that might
be caused by the installation or maintenance of said gasoline
filling Jtation, and to remove same upon notice from the 'Eoard
of Aldermen; which motion was seconded by Alderman Walker and
carried.
