Min 05/08/1918 Wichita Falls, Texas, May 8th, 1918. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the busines of the city, with Mayor J.B.Marlow presiding and with the following officers present: Aldermen J.F.Reed, J.M.MoFall, W.H.Walker, and C.N.MoCutchen; City Attorney Mathis, City Clerk Walkup, City Marshall Smith, and Fire Chief McClure in attendance. -.o_0o - The minutes of the last regular session were read and approved. - 0 0 0 - Ordinance No 2X - An ordinance cumulative millmilow of other laws, defining vagrants, declaring certain persons vagrants and providing a penalty, was on motion of Alderman Walker, seconded by Aldermen Reed, put on its first reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote: alderman Walker, yea, Alderman Reed. yea; Alderman McFall, yea; lderman McCutchen, yea. Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No.24 sassed on its first reading by the unanimous vote of all the .ldermen of the city, present, voting yea. - 0 0 o - Ordinance No 24 g - n Ordinance for the regulation of Pool Halls, Billiard Halls, d Bowling Alleys was on motion of Alderman Walker - seconded •y.401111Wismo, Alderman Reed - put on its second reading and passed 137 the following yea and nay vote: Alderman Walker, yea; Alderman Reed yea; Alderman McFall, yea; Alderman McCutchen, yea; Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No 214 g passed on its second reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City voting yea. - o 0 o - Alderman Reed moved that the account of H.F.Robertson for $12.90, commission on Sewer rant collections, be paid; which motion was seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. - o 0 o - The monthly reports of the City officers were then checked and O.K.'d and showed the following exhibits for the month of April 1818. Fund Balance 22,739.21 71,787.90 Tospital Fund Overdraft 2,521.32 Bank Balance 69,266.58 71,787.90 y 4 • V Mayor Marlow then presented budget for the year beginning April 1st, 1918 and ending April 1st, 1918 to the Board of Aldermen and after due consideration by the Board, Alderman Reed moved that the budget be adopted, which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. - o 0 o - Ordinance Nop An ordinance establishing the rate of taxation for the year 1918 was read , Whereupon Alderman McCutchen moved that the ordinance be passed, which aetivacwas seconded by Alderman McFall and carried by the following yea and nay votes Alderman Reed, Yea; Alderman Walker, yea; Alderman McFall, yea; Alderman McGutchen, yea. Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No. 250 passed by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the city present voting yea. - o 0 0 - Alderman Walker then moved that a Board of Equtlization,composed of J.✓Young, J.h.Jackson. J.B.Titts be appointed to equalize tax renditions for the year 1918, and that J.D.Avis, J.J.Simon and J.C.Ward be appointed alternates; which motion was seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. - o 0 o - The Board of Aldermen then adjourned. - o 0 o - 1 Read and approved this 16th day of May, 1918. rAttest .
