The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas met on the above date fbr the transaction of the business of the city, with Mayor J.B.Marlow presiding and with the following officers present; Aldermen J.F.Reed, J.L.Lea Jr. and J.M.McFall; City Attorney Mathis, City Clerk Walkup, City Marshall, Smith, in attendance. - a 0 0 - The minutes of the last regular session were read and approved. - o 0 o - Ordinance No. 251. An ordinance for the regulation of the sales and use of wheat products and sugar in the city of Wichita Falls, and in aid of the regulations of the United States Food Administration and providing penalty for violation, was on motion of Alderman McFall, seconded by Alderman Reed, put on its first reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote; Alderman Reed, yea; Alderman McFall, yea; Alderman Lea, yea; Mayor Marlow then declared ordinance No. 251 passed on its first reading by the unanimous votb of all the Aldermen of the city, present, voting yea. - 0 0 0 - Alderman Lea moved that the action of Alde_man Reed in settling damage aise claim of E.E.Ward for 25.00 be approved, which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. - o 0 o - Alderman McFall moved that the penalty, interest, cost, and advertising on Lots 14, Block 5; Lots 1 to 5, and 10 to 13. Block 11; Lots 2,3,4, Block 2; Lots 10,11 and 12, Block 1, Kemp Addition to the city of Wichita Falls Texas For the years 1891 to 1915 inclusive, be remitted; which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. - 0 0 0 - Alderman McFall moved that the fifty's bills be paid as per O.K. of the Finance rfxtba Committee, which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. - 0 0 o - Alderman Lea moved that the following resolution be adopted: which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and and carried. - Alderman Mejall moved that the city Clerk be instructed to dr draw warrent monthly on the general Fund for $50.00 to pay help in the office of the City Tax Accessor and Collector, which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. - 0 0 0 - Ordinance 248 An ordinance for the regulation of Pool Halls, Billiard Halle and Bowling Alleys, was on motion of Alderman Lea, seconded by Alderman McFallput on its third readinganfpassed bythe following yea and nay vote: alderman Reed, yea; Alderman McFall, yea; Alderman Lea. yea; Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No. 248 passed on its third and final reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the city present voting yea. - o 0 o - Ordinance No. 249 An ordinance cumulative of other laws, defin4.ng vagrants, declaring certain persons vagrants, and providing a penalty was on motion by Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman McFall, put on its second reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote; Alderman Heed, yea; Alderman Lea, yea, Alderman McFall, yea. Mayor Marlow then declared Ordinance No. 249 passed on its second reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City present voting yea. - 0 0 0 - Alderman Reed moved that City Attorney Mathis be authorized to employ Carrigan, Montgomery and Brittain, as assistant attorneys in the Shipley damage suit case, for a fee of $500.00; which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. - 0 0 0 - The Board of Aldermen then adjourned. - o 0 o - Read and approved this 23rd day of May, A.D. 1918. - 0 0 0 - Attest nyor.
