Min 06/20/1918 P.chita Falls, Texas, June 20th, 1918. The Board of Aldermen of the city of Wichita Fa114, Texas, met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the city, with J.F.Reed, Mayor Protem, presiding 1 and with the following officers present: Aldermen J.L.Lea Jr. J.M.Mci'all, W.R.Walker and C.E.McCutchen; City Clerk Walkup, City Attorney Mathis, and city Marshall Smith in attendance. - 0 0 o The minutes of the last regular session were read and approved. - 0 0 o - Alderman Lea moved that the city repair Marshall Smith's motor cycleand that the Board take uhder consideration the purchase of a new motorcycle for the Police Department which motion was seconded by Alderman McCutchenand carried. - 0 0 o - ` Alderman Lea moved that Alderman Mean be granted ten days leave of absence beginning Saturday, June 22nd, which motion was seconded by Alderman Mccuthhen and carried. - o 0 o - W.S.Langford, representing the Motor Supply Co, came before the Board and asked permission to enstall a gasoline filling Station at 600 Indiana Avenue. Whereupon Alderman Walker moved that the request be granted under the usual provisions to wit: that the work be done under the supervision of the city Engineer and the otor Supply Co., a partnership composed of W.S.Langford and J.A. Kemp, hold the city harmless from any and all damages that may be cased from the installation or maintenance of said gasoline filling station and to remove same upon notice of the Board of Aldermen; which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. - 0 0 o Alderman McFall moved tha t the city's bills be paid as per 0/K/ of the Finance committee, which motion was seconded by Alderman Walker and carried. - 0 0 0 - • The Board then proceeded to canvas the returns of the election held in the city on May 25th, 1918 for the pu�r ,ose of permitting the sale of the Wichita Gas Co., to the North7ae Co., Whereupon it was found that there were cast at said election 217 votes - 192 for the sale; 25 against the sale Jpoce-Tlt.• o Gc{ /«��.1� °Z ¢ �`, - 5?r,23C,aZ e a 4ie eea, - 0 0 o t.�..y lQ e - l.a The City "alerk was instructed tQ draw warrents for the usual amounts to pay officers for holding said election and to present bill for election expense to the Wichita Gas Company. - 0 0 0 - The Board of Aldermen then adjourned. - o 0 o - ���� dead and approved this 27th day of June A.D., 1918.
