Min 06/27/1918 ichita falls, Texas, Jule 27th, 1918
The Board of Aldermen of the City of i+ichita falls, Texas, met
ih gegular session on the above date for the transaction of the
business of the city, with Mayor J.B.Marlow presiding and with #k
the following officers present: Aldermen J.F.Reed, J.L.Lea Jr.
W.H.Walker, and C.E.McCutchen; City Clerk Walkup, City Attorney
Mathis and city liarshalsl ',smith- in attendance.

The minutes of the last regular and called sessions were read
and approved.

Alderman Reed moved that the city buy a motorcyclefor the
use of the police department and that the purchase of same
be referred to the Public Safety Committee with power to act;
which motion was seconded by Alderman Walker and carried.

Alderman Lea moved that Alderman Reed be authorized to purchase
a buggy for the Sanitary yepartment, which motion was seconded
by Alderman McCutchen and carried.

ORDINANCE NO 252
An ordinance granting the wiehita Valley and the Wichita Falls
R.R. Companies permission to construct and operate two lines of
Railway tracks across certain streets and alleys in the Jalonic
tddition to the city of Wichita Falls Texas, was on motion of
Alderman Reed, seconded by Alderman McCutchen put on its first
reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote:
Alderman Reed, yea; Alderman Lea, yea; Alderman Walker, yea;
Alderman McCutchen, yea; Mayor Marlow then declared
Ordinance No. 252 passed on its first reading by the unanimous
vote of all the Aldermen of the city, present, voting yea.

0.C.Somers, representing the Victory Motor Company, a corporation
composed of O.C.Somers, W.S.Willis, and V.E.Stampflicame before the
Board of Aldermen and asked permission to enstall a gasoline

filling Station at 905 Scott Avenue, whereupon Alderman Lea moved
ftft that the request be granted under the usual provisions to wit:
that the work be done under the supervisdon of the city Engineer
and that the Victory Motor Company hold the city harmless from
any and all damages that may be caused by the enstallation and
maintenance of said gasoline filling station and to remove same
aaikiteconiallileiessure upon notice of the Board ofA7dermen; which
motion was seconded by Aldermen McCutchen and carried.

I Alderman K�.t.5 reported that the committee appminted to
select a memorial to J.A.Kemp, at the dedication of the Kemp
Library, had selected a gold watch, suitably engraved, at the
cost of $125.00, whereupon Alderman Lea moved that the action
of the committee be approved; which motion was seconded by
Alderman ''alker and carried.
