Min 10/17/1918 Wichita Falls, Texas.October 17, 1918. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City with Mayor J. B. Marlow presiding and with the following officers present. Aldermen J. F. Reed, J. L. Lea Jr. J. M. McFall, C. E. McCutchen and M. A. Bundy. Acting City attorney Weeks, City Clerk Walkup, City Marshal Smith and Fire Shief McClure in attendance. 0 0 o Minutes of the last regular session were read and approved. o 0 o The Resignation of Dr. C. R. Harteook SecretaryVTreasurer of the Wichita General Hospital was presented, whereupon Alderman McCutchen moved that the resignation be accepted to take effect November 1st, 1918, subject to the action of the Commissioners Court of Wichita County which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. o 0 0 Alderman Lea moved that ordinance No. 249 be published which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. o 0 o Mayor Marlow reported that at the meeting of the Board at Broad and tenth streets on September 30th, it was agreed by the Board that the curb between 9th and 10th streets should be lowered to conform with the paving between 9th and 10th streets at the espenee of the City. Whereupon Alderman McCutchen moved that the action of the Board be approved which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. o 0 0 Mayor Marlow also reported that on September 30th, the Board met with County Mudge Harris and County Road Engineer Crockett on which occasion it was agreed that a culvert which had been placed by the County Road Engineer do Grant street 125 feet South of Avenue I should be moved to Avenue I, the City to pay the espenee of moving. Whereupon Alderman McFall moved that the agreement be ratified, which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. o 0 o Mayor Marlow ennounc94 that,there had been some criticism of the action of County Judge Harris in alloWN0hWthird floor of the County Court House for Hospital purposes. Whereupon Alderman McFall moved that this Board go on record approving the action of the County Judge Harris, and extend the thanks of this Board for his action, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy end carried. o 0 o A Dr. Meredith 'i'N' report of milk and water examined by him during the past month, whereupon Alderman Lea moved that the report be approved and filed with the Board of Health, which motion was seconded by Aldermen McFall and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Lea moved that Alderman Bundy be authorized to purchase the necessary supplies for the Fire Department, which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. O 0 0 Alderman McFall moved that the City Bills be paid as per 0. K. of the Finance Committee, which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed and carried. o 0 o The Board of Aldermen then adjourned. d 0 o Read and approved this 24th, day of October A.
