Min 11/21/1918 Wichita Falls, Texas. November 21, 191R The Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas met in regular session an the above date for the transaction of the business of the city with Alderman J.F. Reed Mayor pro tem presiding, and with the following officers present. Alderman J. L Lea Jr. J. M. McFall, C. E. McCutchen and M. A. Bundy Acting City Attorney Weeks, City Clerk Walkup and City Marshal Smith in at- tendance. o 0 0 Minutes of the last regular session were read and approved. o 0 o Alderman McFall moved that the city bear half of the expense for mat- tresses for Pest House at the County Farm and that the city clerk assist in the selection and purchase of same which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. O 0 o The Board then went into executiyg session to consider matters autho- rized by the City Charter to be considered in executipp session. The Board then went out of executive session and the following business was trans- acted. O 0 o f ,♦ Mrs. W. G. Teals came before the Board end announced that she would re- sign her position as Debuty Tax Collector on December let, and stated that she ` would appreciate a letter from the Board, whereupon Alderman Bundy moved that / the Chairman of the Finance Committee prepare a letter of recommendation for Mrs. Teals which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. O 0 0 Alderman Lea moved that the city Marshal and Alderman Bundy employ some one to take the place of S. W. Walker as Night Watchman during the absence of Mr. Walker which motion was seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. o 0 o Alderman Lea moved that the City Clerk be instructed to notify E. G. Hill and O. W. Hines to make an itemized report of all lots sold and money collected for Cemetery lots from their last report up to date of report which motion was seconded by Alderman McCutchen and carried. o 0 O. Alderman Bundy moved that the City Bills be paid as per 0. K. of the Finance Committee which motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. o 0 0 ORDINANCE NO. 253 An ordinance prohibiting smoking upon street cars and fixing a penalty for so doing was on motion of Alderman Lea, seconded by Alderman McCutchen put on it's second reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote. Alderman McFall yea, Alderman McCutchen yea, Alderman Bundy yea, and Alder- man Lea, yea. Mayor Reed then declared ordinance No. 253 passed on it' soon reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen present voting yea. o 0 0 The Board of Aldermen then adjourned. o 0 o Read and approved this 5th, day of December A.
