The Board of aldermen and the Hoard of Health of the City of
Wichita Falls,Texas. met in joint called session on the above date
with mayor J,B,Marlow,presiding and with the following officers and
members present Aldermen J,F,Reed.J,L,Lea,jr.J,M"Fall.and'
M,A,Bundy. Dr,M,A,Beckman. and Mrs,T,B,Smock. Mrs,Smock acting as
Secretary.
Mayor Marlow announced that the meeting had been called for the
' purpose of discuesing and deciding on the best method of controlling
the prevailing epidemic of Influenza.
The board of health passed the following order .That all public
places,such as Stores,Shops,Places of amusement,Street Cars or any
' Room where people are working or congregated,or passing in and out,

must be kept open and well ventilated,and that all houses having
FiW' Influenza Patients therein be placarded.Patients to be isolated in
well ventilated rooms,and all persons in attendance on patients
to wear regulation masks,and that all persons or members of family
coming in contact with said Influenza patients when going about in
public or work to wear masks, Whereupon Alderman Seed moved that the
Board of Alderman indorse and support any action taken by the board
E` of Health forthe control of Influenza,and that the mayor issue a
Proclamation requesting that all citizens comply with board of
Health orders,Alsq,or all persons to stay off the streets after

Alderman Lea and carried.

Alderman Reed moved that the Board of Aldermen demand that each and
every practicing Physician report daily to the city health officer
all cases of Influenza and pneumonia or any other contageous disease
All, hysicians to be notified in writing of this demand by the
Secretary of the board of Health,Which motion was seconded by
Alderman Lea and carried.
