Min 12/26/1918 Wichita Falls,Texas, December,26,I9I8. The. Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,Texas, met in regular session on the above date for the transaction of the business Of the City, with Mayor J,B,Marlow,presiding,and with the following officers present,Aldermen J,F,Reed,J,L,Lea jr,J,M,MoFall,and'1T,A,Bunty. City Clerk Walkup,City Attorney Mathis,Fire Chief MoClure,acting City Engineer Donald And Street Dobson in attendance. o 0 0 Minutes of the last regular session,and joint session with the Commissioners 0ourt,Decembe ,9,I9I8,were read and approved. 0 0 0 H,F,Robertson came before the Board and tendered his resignation as City Tax Assessor and Collector,Whereupon Alderman McFall moved that the resignation be accepted to take effect February the first I9I9, and that H,J,Anderson,be appointed City Assessor and Collectot to serve until the next general Eleotion,which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. O 0 0 Alderman reed moved that the new chemical Fire engine be equiped with Cord Tires,which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carrie O 0 0 lderman Lea moved that Mayor Marlow and Street Supt Dobson be authorized to trade for or buy a new car for the use of the street Superintendant,whioh motion was seconded by Alderman McFall and carried. Lea, Jr, Yea, C.E. McCutchen Absent M.A. Bundy Yea , J.H. McFall YEA, J.F. Reed Yea, Whereupon the following election order was adopted: FT,vCTION ORDER WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deem it advisable to issue bonds of said City for the purpose hereinafter mentioned. Therefore it is hereby ordered by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas that an election be held on the 15 pay of yphruary , 1919, at which elec- tion the follow nag proposition shall be submitted: Shall the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas be authorized to issue bonds of the said City in the sum of SisveRty Five,m u_ 0 ,QQ0) Dollars �ab1e forty years after date, with option o Wdleming sa of iy""' ten years time, each bearing interest at the rate of five(5) per cent per annum, interest payable semi annually, and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds, and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the purpose of ACING PERMANENT STREET IMPROVf1TS, to wit: for the purpose of paving public Streets, and constructing the the necessary storm sewers in connection therewith in the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, under the provis- ions of the charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, adopted December 4th, 1913. Said election shall be held at the City Hall, and at the Wichita County Court House, in the City of Wichita Falls Texas, and the following named persons are hereby appointed managers of said election: at the City all Box J.n.ritte Presiding Judge, S,Bp54we11 Assistant Judge, J,J,Manley, G,G,Phi liFs. and fom.W'eidman, Clerks. Said Election shall be held under the provisions of the General Election laws of the State of Texas, and only qualified voters, who are property tax payers of said City shall be allowed to vote at said election,and all voters desir- ing to support the proposition to issue bonds shall have primed on their ballots, the words/FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS, and those opposing shall have printed on their ballotd time words: AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS. The manner of holding said elec- tion shall be governed by the laws of the State of exas regulating general elections. A copy of this order signed by the mayor od said City shall serve as a proper notice of said election, and the Mayor is directed to cause notice of said election go be posted up at the places designated for holding said election at least thirty Days prior to the date of said election, and to give at least thirty Days notice of said election by publication of said notice duly signed by the Mayor in some Daily news paper published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, at least once a Week, for at least three consecutive Weeks, next preceding said election. c 0 The Board of Aldermen then adjourned. 0 0 0 Read and approved this second day of Janus ,A,D,I9I9.
