Min 01/30/1919 • Wichita Falls Texas, January 30th 1919. The Board of Alderman of the City of Wichita Falls Texas, met in regular 1 session on the above date for the transaction of the business of the City, with Mayor J,B,Marlow,presiding and with the following officers present, Aldermen,J,F,Reed, J,L,Lea Jr, J,M,McFall,and M,A,Bundy. City Clerk Walkup, City Marshal Smith,Fire Chief MoClure,and acting City Engineer Donald in attendance. o 0 0 Minutes of the last regular c---:;sion were read and approved. o 0 0 C J,Leftwich,representing A,C,Page and Company,Contractors,a firm composed , of A,C,Page and H,C,Eagerman, Came before the Board and asked permission to construct a wooden Building at 605 Ohio Avenue,for the purpose of storing material for the erection of a building.:at 601 and 603 Ohio Avenue and for Office, Whereupon Alderman Reed moved that the request be granted under the usual provisions,to wit : That the said A,C,Page& Co and A,C,Page H,d, Hagerman individually,thdir Administrators,Successors and Assigned shall hold the City harmless from any and all damages that may be caused by the construction or maintenance of said wooden building,and to remove same unon completion of building at 601 & 603 Ohio Avenue. which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy,and carried. o 0 0 Alderman Reed moved that the matter of weather strips for Library be passed up,which motion was seconded by Alderman Lea and carried. o 0 0 W,Y,Hammack, came before the Board and asked permission to use fifteen feet of the street in front of 601 & 603 Indiana Avenue,for the purpose of storing material for building to be erected at that place, whereupon Alderman Bundy moved that the request be granted under the usual provisions To Wit :That the said W,Y,Hammack his Administrators,Successors and Assigns shall hold the City harmless from any and all ;=a,es that may be caused by the storing of said building material,whia motion was seconded by Alderman Lea, ; carried. 0 0 ,,. The Board then went into Executive session for the purpose of considering matters authorized by the City Charter to be considers� in,Executive session the Baord then went out of Executive session and t}rl yiffStres was transacted, 0 0 0 SAlderman Lea moved that this Board go on record as NEUTRAL in the matter of trikes by the Street Car Employees,and the Cooks and Waiters of the City, which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed,and carried. O 0 0 A petition signed by J,J,Perkins,H,Willis and Linn A,Boyd,asking that Baylor Avenue be paved between tenth and eleventh Streets, ' ,was presented tolON@ Board,whereupon Alderman Bundy moved that the petition be received and filed which motion was seconded by Alderman MoFall,and carried. o 0 0 H,J,Anderson, filed his Bond for Thirty Thousand Dollars,as Tax Assessor are' Tollector,with J,A,Kems, C,W,Snider,and Wiley L,Robertson as Suretier, whereupon Alderman McFall moved that the Bond be approved and filed, which motion was seconded by Alderman Reed,and carried. o 0 0 ORDINANCE NO. 254. " ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF OTHER LAWS RELATING TO THE DRIVING AND OPERATING OF SERVICE CARS,FIXING A PERIOD OF RESIDENCE FOR OWNERS AND DRIVERS OF SERVICE CARS, REQUIRING OWNERS AND DRIVERS TO REGISTER,AND FIXING A PENALTY, Was on motion of Alderman McFall,seconded by Alderman Reed,put on its third • reading and passed by the following yea and nay vote,Alderman Reed,YEA, Alderman Lea,YEA,Alderman McFall,YEA,and Alderman Bundy,YEA. Mayor Marlow then declared ordinance number 254 passed on its third and final reading by the unanimous vote of all the Aldermen of the City present voting,YEA. W,F,Weeks,came before the Board and asked that The National Bank of Commerce and M,J,Bashara be granted permission to use fifteen feet of the Street in front of 800 Indiana Avenue,also fifteen feet on 8th Street at the side of building to be erected at 800 Indiana Avenue for the purpose of erecting Tool House,and storing material for said building, whereupon Alderman McFall moved that the request be granted under the usual provisions To Nit: that The National Bank of Commerce,and M,J,Bashara hold the City harmless from any and all damages that may be caused by the erection of said Tool House,or storing said material, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy,and carried. Also that G,Clint,,,00d be granted permission to use fifteen feet on 8th street in front,and fifteen feet on Scott Avenue on the side of the buildding o be ereg,toQS� Iv.' od Q og�Qr jy ¢ { and Scott Avenue^°oFh AuF Pa egeoRt ali df8�f d'':0 tPtt� f� sE ikil atts under the usual provisions Ta Wit: that the said G,Clint,Wood,hold the dity, harmless from any and all damages that may be caused by the erection of said Tool House',,5toring said material,which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy,and carried. o 0 0 , E,Stanley,Field,came before the Board add asked that The National Bank of Commerce and M,J,Bashara,be granted permission to install a Stairway in the sidewalk on 8th street on the north side of the building to be erected by the said Bank,and M,J,Bashara,at is 800 Indiana Avenue, said stairway to be similar to the one now being put in by the First National Bank on the opposite side of the street, whereupon Alderman McFall moved that the request be granted under the usual provisions,To Wit: That the said Stairway shall be constructed under the supervision of the City Engineer, and that The National Bank of Commerce , and M,J,Baehara,their legal representatives,Administrators,Successors and assigns, Shall hold the City harmless from any and all damages that may be caused by the installation or miantenance of said Stairway, which motion was seconded by Alderman, Bundy,and carried. 0 0 0 Mr Field, Also asked that G,Clint,Wood,be granted permission to install two Stairways in the sidewalks,one on 8th street in front of the building to be erected by Mr Wood,at the northeast corner of 8th street and scott avenue, and the other on Scott Avenue at the side of said building, whereupon Alderman McFall moved that said request be granted under the usual provisions,Td Wit : That the construction of said stairways shall be done under the supervision of the City Engineer, and that the said G,Clint,Wood, his Administrators, Successors and Assigns, shall hold the City harmless from any and all damages that may be caused by the INSTALLATION OR MAINTENANCE, of said Stairways. Mr Field to submit Plans and Specifications of all three Stairways, for approval, which motion was seconded by Alderman Bundy and carried. o 0 0 The Board of Aldermen then adjourned, o 0 0 Read and approved this sixth day of February,A,D,1919.
